ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Sunday donated one pint of blood at PMs House on the occasion of fifty-sixth birthday of late premier Benazir Bhutto. A good number of camps were set up in the country under the campaign aimed at collection blood for injured soldiers and victims of terrorism. PPP leaders Sultan Mehmood Qazi, Zamurrad Khan, Anjum Farooq Paracha and a large number of party workers donated blood at a blood donation camp. The Divisional Blood Transfusion Unit of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) on Sunday collected 75 blood pints from the PPP die-hard workers. The blood donation camps were established at Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Hospital, District Headquarters Hospital, Holy Family Hospital, Samli Sanatorium, Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Murree and Liaquat Bagh. An official told Daily Times only 25 blood pints were collected at Liaquat Bagh - the venue where Benazir was assassinated - till 7pm. However, he said, the blood would be collected till midnight at the respective camps. Meanwhile, a PPP leader said inauguration of the construction of Benazir Bhuttos memorial at Convention Centre, Islamabad, by Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani caused low turnout of PPP workers at the Liaquat Bagh blood donation camp. staff report
