Hyderabad: In the last six months, over 8,000 people in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have been reconverted to Hinduism under the aegis of the VHP’s “Ghar Wapsi” programme. And Hyderabad too is not lagging behind.

“More than 1,200 members (comprising families) were reconverted to Hinduism in Hyderabad. Reconversions were made mainly in Balajinagar of Kushaiguda, ST Hills, Borabanda, Uppal and other areas of the city,” said Mr Venkatesh, in-charge AP and TS, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP).

Mr Venkatesh added, “We don’t call it conversion but Ghar Wapsi (homecoming) as they were wrongly influenced to convert to other religions by claiming that their economic condition would improve.”

Mr K. Veeraiah, a Hindu by birth, had converted to Christianity in 2006 and again reconverted to Hinduism in October this year. A mason by profession and a resident of Suraram Colony, he said, “My son Kondalu was admitted in Gandhi Hospital with a severe kidney problem.

He was undergoing treatment and despite several surgeries he didn’t do well. A pastor and his wife used to come to the hospital regularly and pray for us and other patients in the ward. They convinced us to convert to Christianity and we, along with other patients, did so.

However, my son died after two years. Now, when few VHP members came in contact with me I felt I should go back to the religion of my birth.”

Well i don't think V.H.P. is doing anything wrong in this context. Our Constitution guarantee us the freedom to propagate religion and hence the actions of V.H.P. is totally justified. The Evangelist missionaries have been doing this for the past 4 decades,so when they can do this freely then the V.H.P. and it's allied organizations also have the right to do the same thing:coffee:.

. . .
I hope everyone in India converts to hindu and christians, so when we nuke bhindia we wont have to worry about killing any brothers.

.
Whats with with the Indian media :hitwall: These arent news at all to be worth mentioned... Really... That Agra Program has created a chain reaction, and VHP is now rightly enjoying media glare which it didnt have before...
Time to stop posting news on this....

Saffron is in full bloom in Telangana i can assure you that, this Dusheera the RSS carried out a city wide march along with their cadres in morning, i havent seen them do that before.
I know how poor people and patients are duped for conversion as i witnessed them myself.
So anyone who comes back is a good thing, Seculars should not whine about such things.
Bravo VHP, but first get the Temple boards out of the state governments control with them free, hindus have a lot of funds to make social welfare programmes and counter the conversion for money and allurement used by Evangelist Missionaries.

Even sitting govt under Rajashekar Reddy promoted these conversions. He himself was a converted Christian, if I'm not wrong. & he promoted Christians over Hindus wherever he could. & what shocked me the most was the fact that even Tirupati temple's prasadam making contract was given to Christians. Now...that's taking it to the extreme.

He gave a free hand to Missionaries along with Sonia's backing, he gave them a lot of state funds and temple board funds, also he got a lot of funds from west to make conversions on a fast track basis a lot of Coastal Andhra now has Christianized due to YSR regime, the impact was less in Telangana though. He also pressurized his close ministers to convert, they are right now "crypto christians" like YSR was, ( the term Crypto Christians was invented during the Roman time when christians used to hide as non-christians to avoid suspicion and jail).
He gave all the plum posts to such Crypto Christians during his time, even the TTD board members were Christians and were siphoning off the temple treasures and using gold plated jewellery to make it look nothing was amiss from the inventory or book keeping.
There was a huge scam about Tirupati's lost gold treasures many which were donated by Devotees,They even had the audacity during his time to claim 5 hills of Tirupati ,they said Lord Balaji can only claim two hills the rest 5 will be used to build churches, there was a massive backlash in the state due to media reporting and that prompted YSR to make a team called "Media Watch" as a watchdog to control the media from spreading truth about his corruption and the spread of Missionary activities and conversions.
All of this happened during his time for a period of 10 years.
Now that Congress is totally dead its good news for people of both states TG and SA.
