Burning wood or coal is just for some old or remote houses midst of nowhere. Or for some luxury flats where people burn woods in oven. Making fun. Most homes in Germany are connected to multiple modern pipeline systems. Beneath the earth surface, nobody sees it. I get hot water, central heating. Cooking is electric anyway.

Fact is it was Merkel that rejected Nato bid for Ukraine. The US was pro Nato for Ukraine.
It was Merkel pro Northstream 2 in opposition to the US.
It was Merkel that surrendered country conscription service. energy independence in favor to Russia in opposition to the US.
It was Merkels appeasement that now brings Germany to the brink.
Merkel herself admits she wants to please Putin, she doesn’t want to anger him.
The US, other in eastern Europe warned Germany years ago, however nobody here wanted to listen.
