Genocide of Natives....Don't give us lectures about genocide Americans

. . .
Judging the way things were done way in the past by the standards of today is always misleading. How far back in history does one go?

Never mind the historical inaccuracies. Every once in a few months, someone will bring this subject up to make himself looks important and knowledgeable, and as if he has brought on something new.

If you're going to give us lectures about democracy and human rights then make sure your own hands are not full of blood. Cheers.

How far back do you want to go ?

The reality is that WE are here because of someone in OUR past did something horrific to someone else. Anything from rape to murder to slavery. No one is guilt free from the moralities of today. Back then, slavery was the norm. It was blacks who sold blacks into bondage, to fellow blacks and to whites. Tribes were erased from history, as the Native Americans about that. They were not as noble and harmonious as you would like to believe.

Muslims like you insists on having moral exemptions for what Muslims did in the past and do today. And yet you have the gall and hypocrisy to hold us to the same standards ?

It's going to be hard finding a country whose hands are 100% clean.

Go back far enough and everybody has done the same things. Everybody.

The important thing is that they changed for the good. They have the moral highground to lecture most of the countries in the world.

Power makes you blind.
One doesn't have to go that far into the past, look at what America did with Iraq and Libya(one of many examples)...all in the name of democracy and freedom. America is a super power and a hypocrite, all the lectures on democratic values for us; and when the time comes for America to support democracy in say a country like Pakistan, they seem to be the biggest supporters of dictators.

Changed? you must be kidding me, right?

Well said. But preaching one thing and doing exactly the opposite seems to be the case here. It's like telling someone not to smoke and smoking yourself...

Let's talk about present, if you like...

Every nation, in it's history, has some skeletons. No nation building has been bereft of any kind of action, that can not be labelled a war crime by today's standards.

If one is to look at the advent of the terminology of war crime, where has it originated from? What we consider brutality, is indeed the law of nature by different means.

Do not we see a deer being eaten by a lion and lion overthrowing another and taking over it's pride in nature as an example? Is that, by any stretch of imagination, any saner or perhaps any gentler?

What differentiates us from animals, is that, we, the humans, have evolved over centuries to reach the stage where today we have devised means and ways to maintain some kind of order in our society. Hence, when we look at the past deeds, it must never be to take an example from it and use it to perpetuate the same in present times by extrapolating the idea/thought in totality to present times, but to learn from the past, and correct our mistakes of the present.

I will concede that in the same vein, we have learnt the art of killing each other at a greater magnitude and more efficiently too, but must we focus on that rather than focus on what the human and sociological evolution has allowed us to be today?

Strange!

More like an an ex-smoker telling people not to go down the same road.

Discuss America's policies in number of countries, start maybe from Vietnam to Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya...Drone attacks in Pakistan. America is not an ex-smoker by any standards at all. America and it's hypocrisy, really...
Sure, let's talk about the present. Where would you like to start?
First part of my post.
