ISLAMABAD: Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani visited the flood affected areas of Balochistan, Sindh and southern parts of Punjab on Tuesday.
The COAS flew over the affected areas and visited Sukkar, Kandhkot, Kashmore, Sohbatpur, Multan and Kot Addu to witness the current flood situation on ground, says an ISPR press release.
He was briefed by the local military commanders about the progress of rescue and relief efforts by the Army.
The COAS greatly appreciated tireless efforts of the field formations and Army Aviation, who are working round the clock and at full capacity to provide relief to the affected countrymen.
He directed the commanders to remain proactive, employ all available resources for the rescue and relief, and decentralize maximum effort.
He pledged that the army will reach out to all those who have been affected by the floods. -APP
