Gasoline prices, 05-Jan-2015: The average price of gasoline around the world is 1.11 US Dollar per liter. However, there is substantial difference in these prices among countries. As a general rule, richer countries have higher prices while poorer countries and the countries that produce and export oil have significantly lower prices. One notable exception is the U.S. which is an economically advanced country but has low gas prices. The differences in prices across countries are due to the various taxes and subsidies for gasoline.

Pakistan seems to be cheaper than most of the world ... Most of the countries in cheap list are self sufficient in it

Ours isn't low. It should be lower because in the Pakistani rupee the cost is heavy for the average person, particularly rikhshaws and taxis. It is still cheaper than petrol though.

Today oil was below $50. If it goes down to $45 maybe we should expect another cut. Or gov can keep current prices and increase revenues.

GOP's price cuts on petro-products are determined by Average Price Paid over the review period, not the current price at the end of the period. If 50 is a blip or sustained for few days, its contribution to average price paid will be negligible.

I know, but there maybe another cut next month if price is $45 or below it. But i think GoP should increase revenues because target of 2.81 trillion tax collection is once again will be missed by 200-250 billon.

Not from collection perspective but may be because 1-The inflation has slowed down due to energy prices cooling down. 2-The implications of price hikes if energy prices pick up again in International market. Plus I think the cut before this one was based on an average price of USD 65 $/B so quite a lot of impact has already been passed on. Government will likely hold the price cut card in case there are signs of pick up in inflation and demand management of petro-products is required. We may have very well seen the last of the price cuts.

I have heard so that we get cheaper oil from ksa

So price of 1 litre gasoline in US is 0.66$ it's till less then Pakistan. I think the rate should be between Rs 50-60 per litre because according to my calculations govt is getting petrol around Rs 42 per litre.
