Gang-rape victim appeals to president for justice
PAKISTAN - 16 APRIL 2010

QUETTA: A gang rape victim from Naseerabad has made a passionate appeal to President Asif Ali Zardari, Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary, Governor Balochistan Nawab Zulfiqar Ali Magsi and other high-ups to take notice of the incident of her gang rape allegedly committed by some people in her native village.

Addressing a press conference along with her mother, PPP district Naseerabad Women Wing President Naziran Jamali and some other family members here at the Press Club on Thursday, the young victim, with tears in her eyes, charged that an influential person along with his accomplices gang raped her on April 7, in village Goth Ghulam Mustafa Khosa, and then made her hostage for several days. Later, they threw her in the village and ran away.

Instead of registering a case against the culprits, the police arrested them implicating them what she said in a false case. While weeping she charged that the police was not registering a case against the culprits just because they are influential people of the area.

The rape laws are utterly BOGUS! I feel greatly saddened by those women who are in such difficult circumstances.

We have hope from Chief Justice but not everything could be addressed by him. We got to make all the departments strong and worthy of reliance.

I wish the victim Justice and may all the culprits be brought to justice.
