New Delhi: Narendra Modi will be sworn-in as Prime Minister of India on May 26. BJP's massive victory has prompted NDA to make a political statement and convey to the world that they are here to do business and all are welcome to be part of the journey. It is going to be a grandeur show and all SAARC nation leaders including Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif have been invited.

Rashtrapati Bhavan is making all efforts to ensure that the huge event turns out to be a big success.

According to media reports, forecourt of the Rashtrapati Bhavan will be the venue for the swearing in ceremony. In the past, only two prime ministers, A B Vajpayee and Chandrashekhar, were sworn in at the Rashtrapati Bhawan forecourt which can house 4,000 people. Media reports say, work has already begun for beautification of the forecourt.

Rashtrapati Bhawan is also keeping the Durbar Hall ready, which can seat around 500 people.

This is more suitable considering high security needs. But, the list of guests is going to be long and forecourt remains the first choice.

GUEST LIST

On Wednesday, Modi had invited leaders from the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) countries, including Pakistan PM Nawaz Sharif, to attend his swearing-in ceremony, signalling his priority to engage with neighbours.

Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai and Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa will attend the ceremony, sources said.

Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will be on an official visit to Japan on May 26, the sources said. Therefore, she will be represented by Bangladesh Parliament’s Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhary.

However, Sharif’s participation has not been confirmed yet.

SECURITY

Potential list of guests for the ceremony is around 4,000 which include VIPs and VVIPs. Providing foolproof security is going to be a big task.

MENU

According to reports, arrangements are being made for 3,000 guests and vegetarian high tea. Gujarati food will definitely find place in the menu list.

VIPs will be served at the forecourt. VVIPs will enjoy the food inside the building.

So it is confirmed that food will be pure vegetarian. Which is a good thing :enjoy:
