Fresh firing by Pak, border residents relocate

Pakistan in fresh incident of cease fire violation fired in BG sub-sector in Poonch district on Tuesday afternoon. The firing continued for about 20-mt, though there was no casaulity on Indian side.

“The firing started at 3pm on Tuesday afternoon. Pak fired with automatic weapons
and small arms. It ended after 20-mt,” said defence spokesperson Col RK Palta.
Pak had last evening fired along four sub-sectors in Poonch and Rajouri districts, which had stopped early Tuesday morning at about 6am.

With no let up in firing along LoC for about one month, about 150 inhabitants of Dehri village, Balakot sector (Mendhar) district Poonch, protested outside office of sub-district magistrate in Mendhar demanding safe accomondation for them.

According to reports, the people told the SDM that their village is being regularly pounded with mortars and shells from across the border since Aug 6 and their lives are not only in danger but badly affected.

Deputy Commissioner Poonch Sajad Hussain arrived at Mendhar in the evening and said decision to relocate them to safer place would be taken up after discussing it with the government.

According to reports, residents of border village told DC that they would wait for only two-day about government’s decision failing which they will shift to government buildings in Mendhar or other safer places.

They also demanded permanent piece of land at safer place for their permanent relocation.

In the escalation of case fire seven civilians have been injured in Poonch district, one of them identified as Parvez Ahmad resident of Sandot injured critically and is under treatment at Jammu since August16.

Several houses in Ponch and Rajouri district have been damaged in firing of mortars and RPG shells from across the border.


 
we should relocate them to some safer place. I hope govt would do that.

I think India should make a deal for the quick delivery of:
100 Apaches
60-80 Chinooks
10+20 C-17s
12+20 C-130Js
20 A-400Ms
80-100 C-27Js

as war with China is closing and Pakistan conflict is on going.
