French companies keen to invest in Pakistan’s automobile industry!

How does 400% sound ?
These bastards have monopolised the entire system ..
You should take visit India during pre liberation era (Licence Raj).
My Grand Father struggled to buy HM Ambassador for more than 2.5 years (in cash not loan) & take lot of political help to get licence to buy it.
Only difference between you & us is we got screwed by our own companies ( & stupid socialist ideology of government) & you screwed by international giants & political -mafia nexus.

Man this perfect time for guys..Catch them.
I heard Hyundai wanted to set a manufacturing plant in Pak but left...can some tell me why?
They did had a plant,, making a pick up small tuck named "Shehzor". Now i, coming from a manufacturing and export field need to transport stuff from one plane to another on daily basis and it is not that we discuss this in office at least once a week that how big a loss that is that the plant is off now. The machine was EXCELLENT, we do not have any alternative in that category. The plant closed because it belonged to the arch enemy and rival of Zardari sb and he when the president (due to follies of us Pakistanis) just made it impossible for them to continue. Hundai was so badly effected that the wrapped up business and went away,,, the new is there were plans to set up new lines to start manufacturing family cars as well and that would have brought millions in investment and billions in sales and exports.

THIS IS THE SAD STORY OF AUTOMOBILE SECTOR AND THE CORRUPT POLITICIANS

I highly dislike French car makers. If it is to happen then the French should invest money in Car mechanic training as well to complement french cars in Pakistan.
French cars are very good and relatively cheap as compare to most of the Japanese models which Pakistan relies on. have you experienced any french made car ?

That's a big reason why people - specially in rural areas -- and in remote towns/cities of KPK & Balochistan buy unregistered vehicles -- from Afghanistan (which has no duty on vehicle imports)..

Why pay over 2 Crore for a prado when you can buy an unregistered one for as cheap as 15 lakh..or a 4-6 lakh Toyota Vigo instead of paying over 45 !

Japanese sell crap in Pakistan does not mean their cars are bad.
Maruti Suzuki have reputation of very reliable, best after sales & service & good resale value.
In India, most people buy other model midsize car due to low price or new look (bored from Maruti).

French have a reputation of lousy automobile companies compared to their other European brethren.

2 crore PKR for Prado
Well, I didn't like Toyota due to their looks (I am bored ) & their lousy cruise control (shittiest in all Japanese muscles) but they are rough & reliable through.

Yes Citroen, Peugeot, Renault they are very good because they keep the car mechanic Very happy. I drive Japanese or German.

I will take even some Namibian car makers to begin with,,, this is a HUGE market,, will bring in lots of foreign exchange and create lots of job. PLUS, we may finally get rid of a 8.5 Lakh Mehran.
Our governments never focused on this sector, primarily because the existing manufacturers have monopoly and manage to bribe the gov any government officials out of any such idea. I hope this now is also not just talking,, we need to focus in this sector, get in international makers and that will be a big plus for EVERYONE,, a win win!!

ok fine diversify car market but bring Germans into it as well we don't want to go from a Japanese monopoly to a French one if you get my drift! i dislike French cars from a reliability point of View. UK after France has the second highest volume of French cars and also spend alot of time at the garage being fixed.

These cars are awesome and cheap believe me by their looks and design you will forget Toyota and Hyundai believe me . . . . . . . . Pakistan should invite every automobile company to set its plants in Pakistan and sell their cars and beat the Japanese dominated Pakistan car industry . . . .
Aap ka hukum sar aankho par Megan sahiba.

.

Peugeot has turned a corner in quality recently. Their new cars are extremely efficient and the quality even beats most German cars. For example, the new Peugeot 208 1.0cc petrol costs £7,000 new, £6,000 for a used one with 10k miles on the clock. With 5 seats, 99g/km emissions, 70 bhp and a fuel economy of 66mpg or 24 km/l (the units that are common in the region), this car will happily run for 150,000 miles with regular servicing (every 15,000 miles).
I know this because I have used a Peugeot 206 2002 model, 1.4 diesel for 5 years a while ago averaging 20,000 miles/year. And the parts were dirt cheap, the labour was low because of its simplicity and apart from small repairs due to wear, it ran flawlessly.
