According to this official document from the French armies,the French air force plans to double its MQ-9 reaper fleet. The document reports a future order (without further details) by 2030 of 4 new MQ9 Reaper systems,one system comprising 3 drones. It means the air force would double its fleet from 12 to 24 MQ-9 Reaper.
The air force is satisfied with the Reapers' performances in its operations in the Sahel. Armed since december 2019,they have already conducted 40% of the strikes against armed terrorist groups.
This news is actually not a good sign for the EuroMale,France isn't satisfied with its exhorbitant price for similar,if not inferior performances compared to a MQ9 Reaper.
General Atomics is also very aggressive on the matter,proposing an "Europeanized" version of the Reaper.
