France ready to help secure Cyprus EEZ if necessary : MoD

It does not take away the fact he is UN recognized president same as Hadi, Sarraj. He can personally stab to death millions of Syrians and he is UN recognized president. Legally speaking.

to kill hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians is not legal
btw who elected ASSAD ? Nobody
Most of Syrian People doesnt want ASSAD

and only criminal Iran,China,Russia can support a murderer dictator

.
And yet Turkey tried to kill Assad the UN recognized president in Syria.
Yet he is a dictator and from the minority Malawi. His father was a dictator b4 him and both responsible for deaths of 100s of thousands of people. So if the UN or a community as a whole accepts evil. Should you as well? People accept and recognise things that suits their personal goal.

This is not about France. Like it or not Cyprus, or S Cyprus, is the only internationally recognised entity and, furthermore, is a EU member state.France isn't acting alone but has the full backing of the rest of the EU.
As far as I'm aware Greek Cyprus has pledged to hoard the gas money in a trust fund to be divided with the Northern part of the island, so, it's not like they'll keep the money for themselves only.
Turkey is trying to get a share of the pie with no legal standing....a fact that is recognised by the US to.Not that it matters....judging by the gas market lately, no one is scrambling for Cypriot gas any soon.
Same argument can be said for Turkey a NATO member and UN member since its founding which has EEZ disputes with greek cyprus and the question we all ask ourselves what will happen when turkish and french oil ships are licensed for the same(claimed by both sides) oil block??
First of all Turkey has the military advantage since eastern mediterranean is closer to anatolian coast
Secondly americans won’t allow intra NATO war they didn’t allow it to happen during kardak crisis certainly wouldn’t allow french hippieish foolish adventure
Currently turkish-russian relations are going through difficult times on the other side french-russian relationship is thriving
If americans pick France’s side they will **** up the (bad) momentum between Turkey and Russia and won’t gain nothing meaningful from France as french government shares the same feelings when it comes to muslims with russians
So the obvious solution would be maintaining the status quo which is turkish navy roaming in eastern mediterranean without anyone daring to do something other than issuing stupid statements

If you ask me, no one will benefit from the gas until they reach a settlement.
This is not Muslims vs crusaders, pls don't go there

Technically that’s true but still Israel and US could be the biggest winners even if a settlement isn’t reached if they make gas deals with Turkey

Not without the EU and France has EU backing in here. If you think that the US will throw the EU under the bus for this...

No no I didn’t mean that way of course US would never take pro-Turkey stance in eastern mediterranean in front of EU’s eyes but there are already gas deals between these two states as far as I know after Spain Turkey is the largest american gas buyer so we conclude that all eastmed countries+EU are defacto losers but Russia and US are still the winners if this status quo(gas stays underdeveloped) remain forever
russians and americans will continue selling gas...

Assad is coming up for reelection again. And the elections are far more fair and open than in the US.

.
What about if I develop nuclear weapons in my living room and take over the world? :butcher:
That will make you badass.

You all talked too much for a bandit state.

Anyways, it took 15 years to establish a consciousness in the Turkish society about the "Blue Homeland".
Now, no can steal a drop of water from Turkey's Seas.

Assad is coming up for reelection again. And the elections are far more fair and open than in the US.

Vergi there is also a big difference between Land based cannons in WW1 and one of the biggest naval fleets in the Mediterranean now.

France should stop it's famous lip service, if sh!t hits the fan French forces were the first ones who moved out of N.Syria.
