JAMMU: Panic has gripped Jammu & Kashmir's Rajouri and Poonch districts after forest fires there triggered landmines explosions along the Line of Control (LoC).
Sources said a devastating fire broke out on Tuesday from across the LoC and engulfed several areas on the Indian side. No loss of life was reported.
"The Army and forest department officials are on the job to control the fire, which is still continuing along the LoC," a source said.
"Teams of fire fighters from the local forest departments are assisting the Army to bring the fires along LoC under control. But dry weather conditions are not letting it die."
