Pakistan’s leaders need to borrow Narendra Modi’s magic to lift their country up.

India and Pakistan have made good progress in recent years in lifting their economies up in key international rankings. But Pakistan’s progress lags far behind that of India’s. Pakistan, for instance, ranks 114 in global competitiveness ranking, while India ranks 40. Pakistan ranks 147 in the Ease of Doing Business ranking, India 100. Pakistan ranks 116 in global corruption ranking, India 79.

Pakistan 115 147 116 5.28%
India 40 100 79 5.7

Financial markets have taken notice. S&P India 50 is up 32.35% over the last two years, while Pakistan’s Global X MSCI Index is down 2.64%.

India owes its rapid ascent in global rankings to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s magic, easing the many regulations that have constrained the ingenuity of the Indian people. Simplifying these procedures has made it easier for entrepreneurs to start a business.

Then there’s been steady progress with economic reforms, e.g., the loosening of controls on foreign investment, reduction of export-import taxes, and the removal of price controls.

And the swap of 500 and 1000 rupee notes to fight corruption, which usually leads to large government budget and current account deficits, while constraining competition and technological progress.

Modi’s magic isn’t confined to domestic policy. It extends to foreign affairs where he has forged close ties with US and Japan.

The Indian leader’s policies are in sharp contrast to those of Pakistani leaders who have been entangled by local corruption rather than fighting it; and in their choice of the wrong ally—China—when it comes to foreign policy.

Time for Pakistan’s leaders to catch up with Modi.

It's the Modistas I despise, rather more than I despise Modi. They have this mean, envious streak in them, and get right down to personal abuse immediately, without wasting time. I have converted to their way of putting things, and become a swine myself.

. .
Stop being an buffoon here.

Pakistan only has a population of 220 million people. India has a population of 1.3 billion people.

India is bound to have a larger economy than Pakistan does.

Pakistan also has the world's second highest peak.

. .
Remarks like this make me wonder if independence was worth it.

About as relevant as your own remark.

Incidentally it's a buffoon, not an buffoon. For instance, just to explain the grammatical use, you are a buffoon, you are not an buffoon.

Hahahahahahahaha

Well articles like this are a dime and dozen made to showcase modi as larger than life.

Its very impressive. His control on media and self praise campaign.

We an definitely learn a thing or two from him especially in the media control sector and social media sector. Even our military can.

As for modi. Well I do admire his guts. He does some out of the box things. It may not have worked out as well as he may have hoped but the guts. That's what our leaders are lacking. But then again the grass is always greener on the other side.

Lol.....lol............So what does Lebanon and Jordan have to do to catch up with india????

The above article is highly ridiculous. The big problem is that Pakistanis can't operate like indians because ultimately we are NOT indians. We are a different race, religion, culture & heritage to indian people. We also have different geo-political constraints.

Comparing Pakistanis to indians is just as ridiculous as comparing Turks & Iranians to indians. Or Blacks to Eskimos etc

Modi belongs to an ordinary low class family

Many people who consider themselves a superior breed, find it unacceptable to be ruled by a low lying creature

these are the people who has actually divided the society

. . . .
There is no Modi magic. It is just that the previous Government was just pathetic. He has been an average Prime Minister - who is divisive and his bhakts have given a fillip to Hindutva nationalism. But so pathetic were the previous 5 years of UPA-II, and so pedestrian were the years of UPA-I that even average moves on domestic and foreign policy seem like he is Charles De Gaulle. Case in point : surgical strikes. With no clear definition of what constitutes a surgical strike - entered a kilometer or so inside Pak territory was glossed over. The only positive change I have seen has been in e-Governance and a genuine attempt (with average results) has been made to cut the red tape.
