What's new

For those Lahoris who hate their metro bus!

Apparantly roads, flyovers metro buses in Lahore is more important than overall health sector of Punjab
health also should be in top priority but lack of health facilities should not be an excuse for poor infrastructure.
Wwe need roads, highs ways, bridges, airports , good railway . evey things has its an importance.

Anyways, nothing personal.

by the way did your contract have a monetary value in it?
I am pleasantly surprised that it passed all checks
and you dont need to tell me how ANAL American law is about foreign bribery and unlawful commissions.
but its Pakistan here were any ruling party regardless of its name or affiliation works on the bases of insider trading , conflict of interest and kickbacks.
our ministers have stake in energy companies and in textile and sugar mills and they are the ones who set the prices.
before announcing the freezing of FX accounts the cabinet ministers in Nawaz sherif previous government picked all all the dolalrs and laid off the toxic shares that were going to go down. wors example of insider trading.

I can't disclose business and trade secrets on here. It actually DIDN'T pass all the checks despite having a huge Pakistani partner organization with strong reputation. The same Chief Minister (that many bash on here), had insane transparency requirements that we weren't able to meet as we didn't have as many personal on the grounds. But he wanted 100% audit and accountability which would make us lose money (but good for Pakistan though). If I was to compare these guys mentality, I'd compare it directly to Modi. It was interesting to see how much patriotism and wish for transparency existed. Before that, I thought the same that these guys are corrupt and with our portfolio, it would be an easy win. And yes, I know how it works in Pakistan under the table usually, but these guys have changed all that.

In Pakistan, no party is sane, everyone has serious flaws as they are humans, I can start from Zardari, IQ and NS(past), but I also know the current government is NOT the same as what they were 20 years ago, they've learned the value of their own country and they are pushing very hard to get stuff done to take the country forward.
And through multiple experiences, I know that people in power right now, aren't doing any corruption. I've seen it over four different contracts already. It's easier to win contracts in China and in India than it is in Pakistan due to the new leadership. They want everything in Pakistan, by Pakistanis and with TOT / Process Transition if you will. Which is great for your country.
Having stakes and shares are not a bad thing, everyone with the money does that. Politicians would do it more. They are all human. However, you need to see which of these humans are doing stuff for the country (humans make mistakes, remember). I can also assure you that what you have right now, is working and somehow they have the right intentions, relationships and focus to take this country forward. There is no one else who'd get you the international investment that's badly needed but these guys. So please support your gov't and go forward. You can take out your frustration in the next elections. Derailing democracy will derail the system, will tick off the international community and your country may never come back up. You guys are in a mess because your generals never let a system get developed and kept interfering.

Setting health and education at top priority doesn't mean that we are now bound to do nothing in other departments. Hope you can comprehend such simple things.

Really, lets talk about per capita budgets of Punjab & KPK:

Do the maths yourself and educate us on your findings please.

Where is accountability of Lahore metro? All records were burnt to ashes in Lahore, right before the elections.

Wow have some shame. The reason on per capita basis punjab spend less is because of unfair NFC award. Get some clue before posting propaganda charts.

Punjab budget is only 2.5 times bigger then KPK but population 4 times. If Punjab get its fair share then PTI will start crying like retarded kid.

Wait....what Greed for Commission? My company worked with a Pakistani firm to get the auditing contract. It went to transparency international and I've seen their reports.....there was NO corruption at the leadership level, estimated 10-15% low end bottom level corruption at the street contractor level, which is EVERYWHERE. People need to realize, the current government isn't doing any corruption and they've started many billions worth of projects. Btw, I could care less about your country's politics, but I also like to make sure the truth is being said....and I am only speaking about now like since these guys came into power. They may have done a lot of corruption the last time they were in power. Frankly speaking, that doesn't matter. You should see the progress being made now. Pakistan has gained a LOT of investor confidence due to the current gov't's efforts

As a nation we are confused about the therm "corruption". And thus we used it willy nilly.

I suspect many a times, when we say Mr. A is corrupt, we mean many things such:

Mr. A is "inept"
Mr. A "incapable"
etc. etc.

even that without any proof whatsoever.

Which is sad as it just is like spreading rumors.

I mean corrupt in its classical meaning
thats all
one who doesnt do justice to his position, one who abuses his position. one who expects commissions in public and private trade involving a lot of money and just increases fuel and energy prices to run his government

That "one" is every single politician everywhere in the world. Apply it to Pakistan, it includes Zardari, IK, Shariff's (in their previous government roles but NOT the current term) and everyone else. I can give you guys a LOT of examples on where each of these are inept, corrupt and have abused their power, whether at a small level or large.
Next, what's more important? Come up with these fancy terms and drill on them for political point scoring and propaganda or try to work with who is actually making a ton of progress for the people of your country??

Ok. in that case, one must hold documentary evidence as a proof that corruption did occur.

otherwise it will be just heresy.

I am going to use the line of Kevin Spacey on you now

"You should be a negotiator" (ending scenes of the movie Negotiator)

you have written some great posts and boy I am almost sold. I say almost because I know the working of our governments. and specially these political dynasties.

instead of having those foul mouth Khawajas .. Nawaz league should have you as a spokesman.. you even beat that Pseudo intellectual Ahsan Iqbal by miles man.

And please... promise me you wont mention PPP or Zardari.. my right eye starts twitching.

Same can be said about development budget, no? See the massive difference in Punjab's development budget, which shows where is the focus of Showbaz the constructor.

About NFC award, no one is taking it by force, its legal right of each and every province. If you are not happy with Punbjab's NFC share, then you have majority in Punjab Assembly, go ahead and break it into 3 - 4 provinces. Who is stopping you?

And by the way, Education budget of Punjab has nothing to do with NFC award, come up with something else and try again.

Again you don't make any sense. Balochistan budget on per capita basis is highest, but i didn't see any chart comparing KPK budget with Balochistan?

If budgets were equal on per capita basis then that chart would have made sense. Its better to compare over all % of budget spent on different sectors then per capita which KPK have clear advantage.

Balochistan is completely out of question here. Balochistan's per capita education budget is more than all other provinces mainly because of lesser population, no one denies that fact. But still, schools, collages, universities and education infrastructure in Baluchistan is most backward too. On the other hand, total spending of Balochistan at education is lesser than all other provinces i.e. 40.6 billions only but since their population is small, its sufficient amount. Anyways, Baloch education budget indeed is a welcome move.

My post was in reply to the poster, who said Punjab is spending more education budget compared to KPK. Total figure of percentage of total education budget means nothing. You have to divide it by total population and see what is being spent per capita in a province and them do a comparison. This is what is done all over the world.

KP spends the highest on education in per capita terms (5-24 age group), whereas Punjab spends the least. But, if you flip the data around and look only at development spending on education as a percentage of total provincial development outlay, you will find that it is actually Balochistan that has proposed to spend the highest (23%) in FY15, followed by KP (21%), Punjab (11%) and then Sindh (less than 10%).

Punjab total budget 1035bn, education budget 273bn which is 26.37%!

you are a good lad.

All I am telling you is to respect the system and that's in good faith fro your country. I see a lot of opportunities and growth out there, ONLY if a system is allowed to be developed. Educated, tolerant and nationalistic nations support the democratic process so they can progress. This is the ONLY opportunity Pakistan has, if you destabilize the government, you'll lose investors for ever, due to ongoing power and other crises, you won't have any investment of projects anymore, your economy would hit the wall and people will NOT even want to venture out to Pakistan for investments again. These people came in because of assurance given by the government of Pakistan that was democratically elected. If you abuse that process and the democratic system, all is gone down the drain. With no power, economy, etc, etc, the next logical step would be that Pakistan will breakup. Nations that are not democratic can't stay together. Take a look at India, 29 states with over 50 cultures and languages.....half of which don't speak Hindi....BUT they are ALL linked together with a democratic system.
I am resting my case, its sad to see so many mature educated people blinded with the hatred trying to bring the gov't down without caring for 200 million people's future, their next generations, etc, etc. Not one of these guys who want violent protests to kick the gov't out, have thought about what will happen to the country long-term!

I hope these so called revolutionaries read your posts and get some sense in their head instead of working for political unrest in the country
