Food Stories: Khatti Daal

Yup all of them both in chicken and mutton. Hyderabadis here are still strictly following the food habits of Hyderabad with little bit of changes and alterations.

Hyderabadis are proud of their background particularly the reign of Nizam of Hyderabad. They also take great pride in Hyderabad's history etc. So they follow all the food and clothing habits like those Hyderabad. Only thing they have left is Telugu. Nobody speaks Telugu here

strange bread and khatta daal = dosa & sambar ? :P

works best as a light breakfast for me... but there is waay more to south Indian food than the ubiquitous idli, sambar and dosa , you might find beef fry and parotta to be more to your liking.

or malabar style mutton

and if you're not too anal about imaginary sky daddy rules etc, I'd highly recommend the Goan pork vindaloo

goes best with plain steamed/boiled rice.

in fact, even the humble daal/chaawal is pretty good

all it needs is a side of tandoori chicken or tikka to complete it.

F*** you man.. Seriously.. F*** you for the slow torture..

But yeah.. People really need to know about the other south Indian Dishes too.. Great Culinary treat... and loved the sky daddy bit.. thought only I used that.

pork is the authentic meat but they do a chicken, beef vindaloo too

given the tuk-tuk at the strategic level, travel across the border is tough for our peoples, but I hope you can visit sometime and try the real deal..

if not, there's a sizeable south indian population in the Emirates etc, I'm sure there's places in Dubai to get a beef fry/parotta, so look it up if you're ever there.
