Florida city names Nov 17 as Kashmiri Hindu Heritage Day

A Florida city has declared November 17 as the 'Kashmiri Hindu Heritage Day', in recognition of the resilience of Kashmiri Hindus who were displaced from their homeland two decades back.
The proclamation in this regard was issued by Andre Pierre, Mayor of the City of North Miami - one of the largest cities in South Florida.
"We in North Miami, which has such a wonderful diversity, are glad that we are part of this function that showcases Kashmiri Hindu culture," Pierre said as he handed the proclamation to the city's Kashmiri community.
The proclamation noted that 500,000 Kashmiri Hindus were dislodged by acts of terrorism and many of them migrated to the USA and today 22 years later, a majority of them have not returned to their place of birth due to fear but have retained and preserved their 5000 year old art, culture and cuisine.
A function in this regard was sponsored and organised by author Chandramukhi Ganju, with the support of Kashmir Hindu Foundation and North Miami Library.

Bal Thakrey after Early 90's was not the guy he used to be . I guess Old AGe caught up with him . Too many wrong decisions .

And i Respect him nonetheless . He was a major Factor in Cleaning Dawood and Other Pakistan based Gangs in Mumbai .

No problem with you.

It is just that the seculars just go cleaning the attacking community's rears rather than support their own victim community. And not once or twice but every time.

So they end up being deserters of their own faith and also becoming the sidekicks of the aggressors; in short, fence-sitters.

I am not point it at just the Hindu community's secularists, even my community earlier had this abnormality in UP and central Indian districts but that rubbish doesn't work here in NE.

I am also a secular Hindu Indian. It doesn't mean that I will turn a blind eye to the sufferings of my Hindu kin.

If the second sentence you say is true, then you cannot be a secular because you stand up for the rights of your community which in the eyes of secularists is wrong. As a secularist (Indian version) you cannot stand up for your faith and must accept every assault.

That is the unsaid logic.

A simple example is how the bleeding hearts were crying for Bangladeshi illegals when riots happened in Assam, rather than support the Bodos who were from your religious community as a majority.

Thought was a good news but felt that it might be the typical sensational Indian media at play here. I do not see anything of that sorts in the North Miami city website. There was a program on Nov 17th "A Celebration of Kashmir" sponsored by the Kashmir Hindu Foundation. Apart from that, there is none in the website.
