PAF Hot rod pilot, Wing Commander Amjad Javed, was sent to France to evaluate the Mirage 2000. W/C Amjad Javed who retired as an Air Commander was an F-16 pilot.

So a mix of corruption , non commitment and financials ,Interesting part is Russian flankers in 1990`s

As mentioned a hundred times before, the M2k was never "dropped" because of the PAF preferring the F-16, rather was the victim of corruption.

May be one of the best single engine aircraft and best part is no strings attached ... PAF can acquire some old Mirage 2000 even now

From pilot's Point of view , f-16 easier to handle and fly/perform while m2k is hard to control (not stable design+delta) , F-16 and m2k are both very agile aircrafts while both outperform each other in some aspects of maneuvers

From pilot's Point of view , f-16 easier to handle and fly/perform while m2k is hard to control (not stable design+delta) , F-16 and m2k are both very agile aircrafts while both outperform each other in some aspects of maneuvers

lots of senior and well informed members here discussed this M2k issue many time and concluded that it was dropped cause of Corruption , some people will never learned that M2k's weren't drop because of F-16's .. in my Opinion F-16 block 52's will beat M2k

yes off course , i too agree with them , but believe me block 52 vs m2k9 fight needs pilot skills to win however 52 will still be leading victory due to the reasons i mentioned above

How did you gauge that?

What i read was that due to the high unit cost, PAF wanted some of the gadgets removed and price tag reduced but French only wanted to sell the aircraft in it's original specs.

Jokes apart , a pilot friend who have FLEW F-16 block 45 , m2k, mirage 5 told me from his experience
