Five Lions Attack Gaushala In Gujarat, Maul 15 Cows In Just 45 Minutes

This is something else i don't get about this forum. I can understand having Indian members who are here to engage, but some of these daal-khor skinny legged nobodies talking about lynching Muslims? Why admin tolerate them i don't know.

you may have some issues you want to look into these when you get the time.

I did not say least harm is only related to the food we eat. The scope of this discussion was on animals/gods/Hindu thought and hence I confined it to that.

That was my point. Within the confines of this discussion, that picture of gods inside a cow was a metaphor for how useful the cow is to Indian society.

The tree huggers are right. Plants do live a social life and feel pain and are an intelligent creation. There is no way anyone or anything can live in this world without interdependence. So we can choose to go extinct and save the planet from the harm of human beings or we can compromise to a certain extent and ensure we do least harm while we survive too. Vegetarianism falls within this scale. Even tree huggers need to eat to survive.

but then theres the catch..
medical science dictates for a healthy life one actually needs a certain amount meat eating and infact its somehow even considered extremist diet to be vegan or vegetarian completely.
the only thing which falls in the moderate category is a healthy diet which comes from sustained methods of conservation and full use of potential agricultural land.

That's all they know without suspicion ............ now out of these 5 I will safely assume that if it really was a lion attack, the attacker would have been lioness (being a male I like the assigned roles in a lion pack) ...... its a made up story ..........

Negative. Had cows been free to flee, the lion must settle for 1-2 to feed. But the tied up cows making noise must have warranted the lion wrath.

It depends on your outlook. Some like Gandhi say Gita is a metaphorical book while others believe it is history. I think gods do reside in the cow and it was no metaphor when the saints said that.

What a silly thread. Started off on a wildlife topic and resulted in a spit of religious and nationalist insults. I have a few Hindu friends and none of them display the utmost stupidity shown by some close minded Hindus on this forum. Then again, neither I nor my Muslim friends display the stupidity shown by some Muslims on this forum.

Instead of gracefully discussing the exciting news that the Asian lion may rebound in numbers after being close to extinction, the topic in keeping with the stupid character of Brownies explodes into cow worship, terrorism and a "my God got more balls than your God" orgy. Really children, do grow up

i tried..................
even brought out the David Attenborough in me................
now i am stuck in a conversation about how the world can be saved by a Vegan Richard Branson.

Nah medical science does not say that. It was the meat eating western scientists who tried to bring in this argument which is falling by the way side as more of their society grows vegetarian and/or vegan and are leading perfectly healthy lives as have vegetarian Indians for thousands of years.

True. Fox inside a chicken coop and wolf inside a sheep enclosure has the same effect. Blood lust is a real thing.

Obviously which is why the poster called them Vegetarians. Yet they have larger canines than humans. :coffee:

There goes your "theory" outside the window.
Teeth are not the only factor that determine the diet of a creature. Like I said earlier the human digestive system is perfectly adapted to break down animal food

that is just not true no matter what you say......
i am not a physician but i am sure others will answer you on this

archeology has proven that Man has eaten meat for all his life.

There are no metaphors in the Gita. I think you mean the Mahabharata.

One is free to "believe" anything including the Quran. You see where I am going with this ?

@Politico and @El Sidd We have had this dicussion before. Asiatic lions are healthy and multiplying at a more than healthy rate in India. They are no longer confined to the Gir forest and have spread out all over Saurashtra. About 22,000 km. The people there so far have not negatively reacted to even killings humans by the lions so killing of cows by the lions is not much of a bother. The govt compensates them and they are okay with it.

Human system is also perfectly adapted to process alcohol, drugs and "process" various harmful bacteria and a few viruses.

In fact, its also adapted to live in the tundra as well as the sahara dessert. So why don't you go live there ?

Nah I meant Gita for that is how Gandhi is said to have interpreted Krishna's advice to Arjun. Yes one is free to believe anything and that is all you are doing too unless you have experiential evidence for your claims.

that is wonderful news.

this news article actually highlights the lengths of which the people have to go to make room for the lions. 300 cows in a pen is quite unhealthy...... and it also gives adequate chances for the people to play the system into reeking more compensation since now this is somehow a religious/political issue.
