Pakitan's own market is not big enough. I keep repeating that unless Pakistan orients its auto industry to export, this industry cant thrive.

TBH big issue has been is price and issue of repair and spares.
Western cars are too expensive specially when it comes spares.
Japense and Korean cars are over charging for low end , bad quality product.
If you have decent entry level cars between 300K to 700K you will see huge difference.
As Public transport besides buses is nothing.

For future ,
Best thing Pakistan can do is build its railway to modern standards and connect whole country it will lower dependence on oil and Pakistan can save alot using renewable resources to power that and able to huge number of people or resources at far lower price at faster speed

well there is a huge market in Pakistan. We are no less than 25 % of India. the problem is our government and business communities don't look to exploit the lower end middle segments.
Looking at the development our last few year's you don't see many companies that offer decent product for this segment with in a decent budget.

they all are targeting the limited top end segment. And that segment will remain very small no matter how much we grow. Even in India you don't get these luxurious product like they do in Pakistan.

No one is willing to bring cheaper cars which can sell in larger volume. These companies are happy in making big profit selling expensive cars at very low quality. They behave like a cartel. They never decrease price when dollar is constantly going down but will increase price when dollar slightly goes up. Price gouging by these car assemblers is of little worry due to sales volume as government has other more pressing issues in economy.

Pakistan needs to experience rapid industrialization
Well first steps are being taken in that regard Rashakai and Faisalabad SEZs are being overbooked already. Infact Rashakai which was 1000 acres is seeming insufficient so efforts are underway to make it 3000 acres to accommodate all the people who have expressed interest in setting up industry there. Faisalabad is 3000 acres and already about 1000 acres has been booked.

Then there is the Gwadar Free Zone which is also rapidly developing. Finally one of the most lucrative one is Dhabeji near Karachi, another 3000 acres SEZ which is being developed atm.

So these are important first steps in industrialisation. Once these four zones become fully occupied there are plans for four five more such zones.

Pakistan has so much potential it’s crazy. It needs to put 110% focus on industrializing in order to reach it.

For export oriented industries, more industrial zones need to be developed closer to the coast line

You don't want to set up an industry more Than 100 km away from the port, to reduce transport costs and eliminate delay that occurs due to long distance traveling time, in reaching the port specially if it's further in the northern part of the country, which is more than 1000 km away from the port.

I think we have such a sizeable sea front we need to have multiple smaller port cities in Pasni, Somniani, Ormara and Keti Bandar. With the ports in these cities being just transfer hubs that transport the goods produced in these port cities to larger ports such as Gwadar and Karachi for loading onto larger tankers for transportation to the rest of the world.

The more port cities we have the faster we will industrialize.
