What's new

First lot of 40 Arjun mk2 fully operational soon

.
Kestral isnt a part of the FRCV. FRCV is a platform, the main platform being an MBT.

That source unknowning put a Kestral on the page. Two separate things.

We dont know the TATA design, or who they're working with. But they have a solid concept it seems. To actually enter the competitions like that, TATA has serious balls..

Awe OK... I thought they got into some deal with them.
Dude, you are quite definitely a confused soul!! :D
:undecided: looks like yes!!!

Anyways these are apart from Armata :azn:

.
Really, I would like to see DRDO and a TATA, Mahindra, etc team up to produce the FMBT concept.

There is nothing to be happy m8!!Screwdriver technology never ever helps anyone in achieving any kind of technological self reliance!!Had it been the case,India would have become a leading a player in terms of producing cutting edge Fighter planes and MBTs,going by the number of different fighters and tanks the OFB has produced over the decades!!When will you people ever learn, and how long you gonna keep sleeping??Wake up and smell the coffee now!!It's been late enough already.

Guess they should base the commander and gunner;s stations layout around a customized version of the HalBit's Cockpit NG concept for increased situational awareness and automation.

If Arjun has indeed outgunned two excellent tanks (T-72 & T-90) than it must be very good. Better late than never. However only time will tell if Arjun is also as rugged as T-72 & T-90?

On the other hand, 50 crore Indian Rupees per unit comes to a whopping $7.8 million per tank! T-90 supposedly costs about $4.5-million, just hope Arjun Mk2 turns out to be good enough to justify more than one & a half times the T-90 price.

Well, the T 72M1 is not really same as the B or BV versions!!

The per unit cost of Arjun is so high because of its imported power packs and thermal sights and also due to such a small order book!!DRDO had proposed to develop a power pack and automatic transmission set if the Army was ready to place a big enough order because to them, from DRDO's point of view, they saw no reason to divert their limited monetary and man power resources for developing subsystems for a measly 124 numbers of Arjuns. So here you have it,how not to run a project!!

Arjun mk2

Will be the HEAVET ARMOURED REGIMENTS I GUESS 10 REGIMENTS = 500 TANKS

T90 / & T72 upgraded THE medium regiments x 50 regiments = 2500 tanks

500 ARJUNS MK1/2
1700 T90
900 upgraded T72

nice mix
