First F-16 Flypast - 1983

Could have been ground effect looks like he over corrected then wobbled straight after lifting nose straight into climb

F16 1983 must be tense time Soviet was right next door war was not going Pakistans way

May 1986 F16 started to get even and more aggressive over the snow capped mountains of Parachinar they scored their first kill

Very wobbly entrance by ACM Shamim...looked like he almost ran the plane into the ground...

This was the very first F-16 fly past
I have posted this video earlier, nothing wobbly about it, back then the protocol was for the lead aircraft to dip it's wings to the President, something repeated by JF-17 when it made it's first appearance on Pakistan Day 2007.
Here the F-16 enters at high speed, dips it's wings and pulls up.
In later parades, the lead aircraft would simply make a high speed run where as now, it executes vertical rolls.
There's also F-16 display at the end of above and below videos.

Falcons Dive, as it was called, one of the best F-16 displays by my friend Haseeb Piracha. @ 18.50

Thats a dangerous dip. Not v professional. Paracha is a thorough professional.

The first F-16s landed in Pakistan in January 1983, two months later this was their first public appearance so i guess the Airchief who was leading the flypast barely had couple of months training flying the F-16.

During the induction ceremony of No.11 Squadron with the newly delivered F-16s at Sargodha, a PAF pilot was flying a demo in an F-16A. He took off with the gear extended and started a roll right after take-off.....the jet disappeared behind some trees. Luckily he pulled up and carried on with his display. He was the first OC of No.11 Squadron at Sargodha. He also flew the solo display at the 1983 23rd March Parade. Retired as an Air Commodore and is presently in Bahrain working with the Narcotics department.

Unsafe altitude aside, all he did was rock the wings- which has created all sorts of conspiracy here

Back then in early 1980s, both China and Pakistan enjoyed good relationship with USA.

Things have changed lot after Soviet collapse. USA hatched a plot to run an anti-government movement in year 1989, hardly overthrowed the CCP government.

Lot of Chinese military fans were really into F16, now finally we have something better.

There is one point of view in my life never got eradicated: never believe the Yankees.

Same can be said for any other superpower, especially when they put their interests before your's....it is a harsh world.

Those were the days ..

From race course ground rawalpindi !

Not a single performance afterwards can match this.

Just her the Gen's speech, and hear it's content, and feel the resolve,
the message and absolute determination.
