will take lots of time to be renowned institution. i would love to see how many students apply for the admissions.
AND a very standing ovation and a salute to the VC for risking his life as fears can hurl the stone of doubt over patriotism.
very glad to see things are changing for FATA as well.

A good news. FATA should be merged with KPK so that FATA students have easier access to main stream education system with immediate effect.

While this is a good step, I think it would have been wiser to invest in vocational/technical institutes instead. What is a graduate of Business Admin or Pol Sci to do in FATA? There are no opportunities in the area for people with such qualifications. Inevitably they will move to larger cities like Karachi, Lahore, or Peshawar. And FATA will remain the same.

We need to train people so that they are able to transform FATA itself. Setting up a university is a good step, but they're jumping the gun. They need to start with technical institutes. The region should be dotted with them.

To be sure I checked if there were any technical institutes in the region, but my search did not reveal any (I may be wrong though). What I did find was interesting. On the website of FATA Development Authority, they say:

FATA Development Authority is continuously working to enhance skills of FATA residants. For this purpose, FATA DA arranges training programs at different academies and institutes through out the country. A list of these institutes are as following.

(note the spelling of "residants")

And then they proceed to list 34 institutes in KP, Lahore, Islamabad and Karachi.

very good let them study it can remove cancer of extremism from their minds
