16:52 Fire on Indian Navy tugboat INS Matanga: TV news channels report of a fire on board Indian Navy ship INS Matanga. INS Matanga is an ocean tugboat stationed at the Mumbai dock yard.
The tugboat was at the dry dock undergoing repairs when the incident occurred.
No casualties have been reported.

It's very good that there are no casualties reported, BUT seriously, this is getting ridiculous.
 
INS Matanga, built and commissioned at Garden Reach Shipyard in Calcutta, can assist in diving operations and carries a RCC (Recompression Chamber), carry out salvage operations, conduct firefighting and render a limited amount of submarine rescue services.

INS Matanga catches fire in naval dockyard; no casualties reported

A minor fire broke out at INS Matanga which was at naval dockyard in Mumbai as per television reports.
The ship was parked in dry dock area and fire tenders rushed to the spot to douse the fire.
No casualities have been reported yet.
This has been a part of INS mishaps that have shook the Indian defence ministry of late.
More details are awaited

Even a gas cylinder used in cooking in any ship if leaked and caught fire, then also our newspaper make it look big!! In other countries the news does not even gets the attention of the reporters!!

This is just in the spotlight right now, it has always happened but only now the media reports on it.

At least five warship captains have been stripped of their command over the last 18 months for lack of adequate supervision and not complying with naval procedure.And despite so many accidentsour Indian navy has been functioning without a chief since Joshi's resignation.WoW!!!

Wondering if anybody in MoD is even serious about our navy???
