Lotus stems are rich in protein and are considered a good replacement of meat. As i do not eat meat so doctors have advised me eating lotus stems.

Though here in my province KPK of Pakistan we cook these with meat as well and i tell you literally here in Peshawar lotus stems are as costly as beef.

1. masala bhaen aur aloo sindhi style

2.bhaen ke lababdaar cutlet (great as cocktail snack and with rice or parathe)

3 bhaen ke kofte (there are three types my wife makes sokhe manchurian style /cocktail snak, masala gravy type or also go great with hing jeere ke tarke walla rayta served with veg biryani & you can also make qurma abd subsitute bhaen ke kofte with meat )

there are three veg subsitutes for meat in any type of indian or south east asian gravies

Can it really be considered Pakistani if it's vegetarian?
I think a better name would be "Pakistani Style"

I don't think most common Pakistanis eat any of those vegetarian dishes, with the exception of maybe daal, and that too out of poverty.

Most of the Pakistanis eat veggis on most of the days of the week.
