Hmmmm ................ but why would he oppose it, may be if it was a separate province he thought it would be easy for him? This merger gives him more leverage in KPK's politics no?

The parties in power will benefit obviously because of control on development funds. Most of the MPs from FATA are independent so their are always willing to serve the highest bidder. Can't say how much seats FATA would add to provincial assembly of KPK. But FATA merging with KPK would mean elimination of FATA's seats from Senate.

PMLN minus few should have Nisar as the leader of the parliament, Shahbaz obviously won't leave Punjab's CM ship, but who knows NS and his daughter may come out clean. This family business between the brothers and their offspring would get more complex by the way.

Plus the airport and few other projects.

i think this is the 2nd highest priority issue for the PML-N following Panama case. As they and their partners ANP and Mr Diesel were kicked out from KPK, now they are taking this issue very hot to snatch some seats from IK.
But As a whole this is a very well initiative peoples of FATA will get equal rights to the other citizens.
