There is saying globally accepted, "If a Buddhist monk is against you, there is something wrong within you".
The same I will apply on Hindus. The day Buddhists monk turn against Hindus or RSS, then Hindus and RSS need to introspection within.
You don't know, and didn't watch Buddhist monks living way of life. I did. They can't be violent with you unless you cross the last limit of patience with them.

Monks too can be extremist. But it's less because monks are not into social life where violence is required to some extent.

However during after emperor Kanishka, Buddhism has been highly politicised in many different parts of the world. So monks can be extremists too.

Cambodia was once a Hindu country which became entirely Buddhist in the 15th century and the credit goes to kings who gave financial support and free medical treatment to anyone who would become a monk. As a result many Hindus converted into Buddhism. So Buddhism has been politicised.

Also did you forget Angkor wat temple of Cambodia? It was converted Into a Buddhist temple from a Hindu temple. The Vishnu statue was converted into a Buddha statue similar to what Ottomans did to Hagi Sophia.

Buddhism was never mixed with politics in the past after Kanishka it became such.

Generally theocrats divide religion into two-Eastern and Abrahamic. Buddhism does not belong to neither the Abrahamic lineage nor the Eastern religion lineage.

Buddhism has components of both Christianity, Islam and Eastern faiths like Hinduism and Jainism.

Generally Abrahamic faiths are of same character and Eastern religion are of same character.

But we Buddhists can eat Beef like Abrahamic faiths, we cremate our dead like Eastern faiths, we are encouraged to spread our religion or conduct missionary works like Islam and Christianity, we have strong belief in Afterlife and meditation like Eastern faiths. Buddhism is not slanted into certain category.

So Buddhism is unique in its own way. It is a universal faith.

Buddhism is an Eastern religion because it came from the East of Europe and West Asia. In other words, Eastern religion is purely a Geographical Term, the correct one would be Dharmic, that concept is unique to this area.
