CHANDIGARH: A 47-year old farmer allegedly murdered his 22-year-old daughter in Kheri Jassaur village of Bahadurgarh, 30 kilometers from national capital of New Delhi on the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday.
Identified as Hari Parkash, the accused father is on the run. Police have registered a murder case against him at Bahadurgarh's Sadar police station of Jhajjar district.
"As on now, investigations have revealed that the accused always suspected the character of the victim. Hence, he killed her,'' said Inspector Randhir Singh, the investating officer of the case.
As the exact time of the incident could not be ascertained, it is learnt that the body of the victim was found lying in a pool of blood.
According to the information, the victim, identified as Seema Rani, was one of the three children of Hari Parkash. Seema, who was the eldest child, was studying in BA second year. She had a younger sister and a brother, Reena and Ravi aged 20 and 18 respectively.
Police said that Hari Parkash was alcoholic and always suspected the children. ``On Tuesday night he gave some sedative-laced eatables to children. While his wife and children were asleep, he killed Seema with a sharp-edged weapon used for felling the trees. Later, he also informed his brother and left the place while leaving Seema's body in the pool of blood,'' said investigating officer.
