Family members of four youth in the neighbouring Thane district fear that their sons might have joins terrorist outfit ISIS, which is fighting in Iraq for a seperate islamic country.

Out of four youth aged in the range of 20 years, three hail from Thane and one from Kalyan.

One Arif, son of Dr Ejaz Badruddin Majeed, hailing from Kalyan disappeard two to three months back.

He had written a letter to his family in which has mentioned certain points, and on the basis of that letter his family members believed that he might have joined the ISIS in Iraq. Arif is an engineering student from Navi Mumbai.

Police confirmed that family members of the four youth have approached them and also submitted Arif's letter to them. They have also registered missing complaints with the police.

Initially, the youths visited Iraq with a pilgrim group in May this year without informing their family members. But when the families contacted other pilgrim members thay said that Arif and three more youth had left them and gone to Fallujah -- a city that is the epicentre of violence in Iraq, according to reports published in a leading English daily.

Arif is believed to be accompanied by others identified as Fahad Tanvir Sheikh, Aman Naim Tandel and Shaheen Farooqi Tanki.

How do you know they are shia? Their names suggest probably sunni.

Nah ma just guessing, cause it says initially they went to Iraq with a pilgrimage group. And yes, lets hope they never come back, dead or alive.

From my i observation, i think Naqvi seems like a Shia.

I can't always tell, but often they have last names like naqvi, jaffer, hussein, Taqvi, Rizvi, Kazmi, Alv, Abidi. I guess some o these are also used by sunnis i think. But in this case absolutely no sign of shia names... including first names like hasan, hussain, ali, abbas, mohsin etc etc...

Good lord.My condolences to the family member. Its sad when decent hardworking people have their dignity and pride brought down due to the fault of their own blood.

Well if this is true , intelligence agencies should track down the people/org behind the corruption of such young minds.Indians need to be in India, improving their lives and that of the country and not go fight for animals.
