The F-35 Lightning II will be capable of undertaking a wide range of operations from intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions to high intensity combat, including air defence for a Carrier Task Group and offensive support for ground forces.

The Royal International Air Tattoo is open to the public from 11-13 July and Farnborough International Air Show is open to trade visitors from 14-18 July and open to the public 19-20 July.

Very cool. I have seen multiple F-22 demonstrations, and am anxious to see the F-35 at Miramar someday.

.
Yeah. I'm not really worried about the f35. It's a piece of shite

. .
Looking forward to it. F22 is a formidable combat aircraft, let's see if the F35 can deliver the same. (aerodynamically)

Btw, was it this guy above in the video who claimed a Mig21 could strike a F35 down? Genius. :o:

This is the " guy " who designed the F-16. He's not just a guy. And as far as designing fighter jets I'd say he's a pretty credible expert. Much more so than you or the bankrupt NATO shills that are trying to sell this flying turkey to everyone in NATO. Australia and Canada don't even want to buy them anymore. Educate yourself more on the topic. Then get back to me with something other than a snarky highschool reply. thanks

Keep in mind he also believes radar and missiles are useless on a fighter jet and you should only have guns and no ground attack ability.
Keep in mind his credentials and then reconcile that with yours and you'll understand who's opinion has more weight in professional military circles. Not Pakistani highschool forums

. .
What part of " they don't even want to buy " did you not understand. They have no other option at this point. There are no other 5th gen fighters they can buy being part of NATO. Like I said educate yourself on the topic. Not mass consumption sound bites and talking points but actual analysis from people much smarter than you. Then get back to me.

He is pretty extreme is his views. He didn't like how the A-10 turned out because having armor impeded its agility.

He is pro "sleek and lean with just a gun" and nothing else. That's why he loves Sabres and Mig21's.

You can call him many things. But the most important is he's one of best authorities on fighter jet design you will ever meet. He designed one of the most successful fighter jets in history. And yes he doesn't like flying turkeys or government pork projects mean to squeeze trillions out of American taxpayers.

Listen to the points he makes from an unbiased perspective. You'll see they all make perfectly good sense.

Type Robert Widmer in google and get ready for a shock

He is the F16 designer.

I don't need to type it. I already know who he is. It seems you have no idea who Pierre Sprey is. Google is only your friend if you have context to properly assimilate the data you find.

You obviously don't know the history of the f16

So who in your mind did more of the engineering design Sprey or Widmer?

And the fighter mafia were idealists.

At least you finally googled Sprey and the fighter mafia. And yes they were idealists. That doesn't take away from their knowledge of proper fighter jet design.

Bottom line. The f35 is a money pit. Not a very good one at that. BUT it's all NATO has right now. So they will try to sell the hell out of it. No matter what the experts say. And NATO countries will buy it because they really have no other option.
