In one sense, I wish they had stuck with Sabre II for the JF-17 (i.e., the codename given to the PAF's earlier attempt at a locally produced fighter).

Indeed, we used to have a huge force of f-86s as well with action in Korea as well. These were then retired in favour of Mirages - 3/F1s and impalas.

MM Alam used to praise Sabre as an agile and deadly machine than any jet of that age ...I don't however that how one can compare it with Mig-21 given that Sabre has shot few of them....

We destroyed a few in 65 during pathankot strike, one another in 1971 (both using F-86).

What were the other instances using F-86?

Overall F-86 was beauty of its time (especially love its bubble canopy).
