No. 37 (Combat Training) Wing deployed in training base, PAF Base M.M. Alam , has 18 and 20 Squadrons, both are OCU and operate FT-7 in Mianwali. Any contact there could potentially solve the query.

The original ft7 were shorter by 600 mm to ft7 later inducted in numbers. I think they were returned back China till reinduction later

20 has FT 7 PG and F 7 PG and 18 has FT 7P . 20 sqn regularly participates in ADA duties . I remember when they shifted from rafiqui to MM Alam they did couple of hot scrambles.

The new temporary sharp shooter sqn also there with all f-7p and ft7ps with remaining life / hours , its LIFT role past 1 fcu for now

Eventually f7ps will be gone from 18 as well as per sep 7 show there are now 7 jf sqn and 18 may be already in process of converting at kamra ??? Looks like 14 moved out taking no 19 spot

the initial posted FT-7 in desert smart camouflage pain job were 600 MM smaller than the version later acquired from china. i think Pakistan is currently operating close to ~15-20 FT-7 of various timeline in sharp shooter. sqd. of that newest one are those 9 acquired after f-7pg induction and then 5 used examples transferred from china beginning of 2011/2012.

Per paf history book ft-7 life was extended by pac past 26/2800 hour OEM life (do not remember exact) without OEM approval based on pac experience with ft-5, f-6s and other aircraft OEM was asked but were not willing or ...

Assuming another 2-300 hours added per airframe and total 20 or so

300x20 = 6k hours would cover a couple of years

Paf did the same for f-6s last two Sqn

18 is still very much operational in Mianwali...why are u so eager for their conversion..i hv told you before that as long as F7 is operational,18 sqn is not going to re-equip.

Also SHOOTER sqn is separate from Sharp Shooters.
