F-16, SU-30MKI FACE OFF DURING SINGAPORE-INDIA JOINT MILITARY EXERCISE

Singapore has deployed six F-16 fighters for a joint military exercise with the Indian Air Force’s four Su-30MKIs held from Nov 12 to Dec 17 at Kalaikunda Air Force Station, India.

The Joint Military Training (JMT) exercise saw air assets from both countries involved in mission-oriented training, as well as and air combat 'dogfight' training. The exercise involves more than 100 Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) personnel.

"The Joint Military Training provides an excellent opportunity for both air forces to enhance our operational competencies by learning from each other," Lieutenant Colonel Ong Teck Koon, the RSAF Detachment Commander was quoted as saying by Asia One.

"It is a testament to the warm and long-standing relationship that the RSAF shares with the IAF".

The JMT between Singapore and India is conducted under the ambit of a bilateral Agreement signed between both air forces in 2007 and subsequently renewed in 2012. It is set to expire in 2017.

The two air forces also interact regularly through professional exchanges, visits, and cross-attendance of courses, Singapore’s Defense Ministry said in a statement today.

The Republic of Singapore Air Force operates 62 F-16 Fighting Falcons, all of which are advanced F-16C/D block 52 aircraft. These aircraft are equiped with state-of the-art armament, including AIM-120 AMRAAM and (presumably) the Israeli Python 4 missile linked to a DASH-3 Helmet Mounted Sight.

F-16 Air Forces - Singapore

US is officially upgrading those 52s in 60s.

And people claim we dont know F16s and F16s are superior and blah blah what not...And here we have been having joint training about every year from a long time and have ensured we pair it up against with Jags, Mirages, Mig29s and Su30 MKIs.

Its a very good move of always engaging with Singapore on a regular basis.

Old Saying that whether is an Exercise or Real Fight: " Its Men behind Machine that Matter's the most"...F-16 C/D Block 52 is no doubt lethal+ deadliest War Plan but U need skillful, polished and courageous fighter pilots too....Which I doubt RSAF didn't has.....

F16 latest upgrades including the AESA etc is an extremely good fighter. Su30MKI has quite a number of design flaws and can be taken down both in dog fights and bvr scenarios.
But humans behind machine is fast becoming irrelevant. Sophisticated AI algorithms are docking space crafts and placing lunar probes long way across the Solar system almost in auto mode !

I quoted the F16 site quotes and made no additions as RSAF Blck 52s are already way to superior to PAF ones. and now upgrading to Blk 60s implies we have far more on field engagement experiences.

PAF operate the later F-16 block 52+ variants which are superior to the 52.

Also why even drag PAF in your rants ... Would invite ..

As of PAF not knowing anything about the su30.. several PAF pilots are flying PLAAFs su30MKK & MK2s... Which are also used in joint trainings with PAF.. Pitted against both F-16s,JF-17s and other jets.

this man behind machine crap is too much...coz except PAF other pilots are useless that you want to say? it may be upto 80s your pilots would had upper hand as they had assess to better tec & training support of west, but know India is training with USA, Russia, IsAF, Singapore, UK etc etc on yearly basic and using those learnings to improve it's methodology & doctrinaire.

Every time when you come this crap the man behind the machine than mind you even a super-duper pilot can use upto 110% of it's plain not a single % more than that. This is a era of centralized integrated war were Airplanes are going to be protected by AWACS and need to save their *** from Mac4/5+ highly maneuver missiles.

Just tell me even your best pilot sitting in Mirage -III can save himself from a average pilot sitting in yours F-16? no he cant because for using his super-duper skills he needed to know what is behind him even before he come to know he will be ghosted

I agree to disagree war tactics and rapidly advance aeronautical technologies are changing day by day but still human involvement in Dog fight+ BVR is so important.Calculated maneuver+Instant decision making holds key..
Lastly @aanshu001 man U need Serious medical attention regarding PAF Pilot Phobia issue....

RSAF F16/52 are a superior platform to the 30 year blocka/b which PAF field which are being upgraded now.

So lets park this myth first.

Regards training and professionlism let me confirm the singpore pilots enjoy investment & training facilities which a far superior to what is offered to PAF pilots.

THE RSAF enjoys far more funding and almost certainly more flying hours.

regarding man behind the plane I believe the SIGNPORE people to be a race which is tech savy business friendly and far richer than Pakistanis, ALL THESE SIGNS point to a high class air force.

INDIA AND ITS PILOTS ARE VERY LUCKY TO FLY AGAINST RSAF regularly.

in short the PAF wil pose no new threat to SU30MKI which they will not have trained for already numerous times

Take a pick than War veteran with 3rd/4th Generation fighter Or Normal pilot with most advance fighter jet.
Certainly high tech and unmanned do counts but they have their own limitation too....

Endian airforce is far ahead against paf. There is no fight.
gap is huge. Pakjstan has to work hard or keep quite.

@DESERT FIGHTER Singapore has upgraded the air to air combat capabilities of it's F-16Cs to the same standards/level of block 52+ and have a number of advanced Israeli subsystems.

Soon all of them will be upgraded to Block 60 standard.

U can agree or disagree that's your problem, don't worry about me but quite some people on PDF needed medication to get out their super-duper PAF pilot syndrome

 :nono: Need facts of RSAF operational history and No:of Ace pilots + Major Operation success of RSAF, they didn't have any major engagement except with Iraqis .As per my Info they start Inducting F-16 just a decade ago.Financially strong air force didn't means U r a Warlords U have to prove it against U r adversaries. Just like PAF did on so many occasion.
