Mufta? You mean the money that was being paid to wapda to "but" that electricity that punjab was spreading around to industrialists and tube wells for next to free rates? Find out what your per unit electricity rate in lahore bill is and then compare it to karachi.

Mufta means the excess electricity provided from national grid based on the special instructions of zardari. Rates are higher of course because
1- Punjab's electricty comes from national grid not directly soled by KESE.
2- Karachi's terrif rate is set by KESE.
3- The theft through Kunda system also have to be accounted for in the cost since KESE is a private entity and has to cover its loses somehow.

He said two years, even if you read PTI manifesto they have given time frame of 2, 3 years.

6 month statement was valid at that time coz Punjab Gov began construction of two power plant Nandipur 425MW, Chicho-ki-Malian 525MW but PPP Gov didn't cleared the funds. You can read whole story here.

It seems unlikely that the power crisis will have an end, if any. The extent of the problem really needs the whole machinery of the government to be overhauled into the effort, and given Pakistan's (PML-N lead governments in Punjab and Pakistan previously) previous governmental orders it seems very unlikely. The Pakistani government does things that does not distrub the status-quo much. Therefore the electricity resolution seems extremely unlikely. What will happen is to ensure that a machinery is set up which will keep the crisis in control and allow the government to fix the rates so that the private sector, which the government will carry over to estabilsh, will maximise its profits. The public which will be happy to receive electricity even if it's extremely inflated will happily accept such 'progress'.

dude any electricity given to karachi was 'bought' i repeat 'bought' by KESC

i dont want to go in such a discussion but clearly the mufta was the metro bus in lahore, a project which was completed in a very speedy way and a project which requires a huge subsidy to run

we karachiites pay heavy bills and its clearly not mufta, KESC is private organisation too


zardari doesnt even have a vote bank in karachi so its beyond understanding why will he direct so called mufta to karachi, why not larkana, nawabshah

all imports and exports in the country are handled by karachi port, shutting karachi port operations like 12 hours of load shedding in lahore will immensely effect entire country
