LONDON, July 8 (APP): An exhibition on human rights abuses in the Indian Occupied Kashmir titled “Kashmiris humans without human rights” was held in the British Parliament on Thursday to raise awareness and concern over the continuous violations of the basic rights of the people of Kashmir. Organised at the upper House of Lords, and hosted by Lord Qurban Hussein the display material was themed within the parameters of Amnesty international’s Latest report 2010 ‘The Lawless Law’. It was prepared by Justice Foundation Kashmir Centre London. A documentary film produced by the Kashmir Centre was also screened in the presence of the parliamentarians. The script was written by Prof Nazir Ahmed Shawl, Executive Director, Kashmir Centre.
The inauguration was attended by Lord Nazir Ahmed, Chairman, All Parties Parliamentary Group on Kashmir, and a number of Parliamentarians including Lord Tariq Ahmed, Baroness Meral Hussein Eca, David Ward MP, representative of Amnesty International and Kashmir activists.
Speaking on the occasion, Lord Hussein described the objectives and the perspectives of the exhibition. He said this effort will create wider awareness and serious concern about the trampling of the rights of the Kashmiris.
He implored British Prime Minister David Cameron not to shy away from the human rights violations in the Indian held Kashmir and raise this issue with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in a robust manner.
Lord Hussein informed the gathering that he will raise a question on Kashmir with the Minister of Asia in House of Lords on July 12.
Lord Ahmed hailed the efforts of Lord Hussein with regard to Kashmir. He referred to Dr Angana Chatterjee briefing to parliamentarians earlier this year with regard to the situation in Kashmir. She had highlighted the miscarriage of justice and the unlawful killings.
Lord Ahmed also referred to the killing of 120 youth in uprising last summer in Srinagar and adjoining towns and drew the attention of the international community in this regard.
Representative of Amnesty international J. Batra gave a brief resume of the report. MP David Ward promised to raise the Kashmir issue and the atrocities committed on the people of Kashmir. Another MP Steve Baker supported the inalienable right of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and said he plans to raise this issue in the House of Commons.
Baroness Meral Hussein Eca was of the opinion that more effort is needed to highlight the suffering of Kashmiri people.

i guess Britain is trying to keep India under pressure. it is hard to swallow for them that the nation the exploited is rising and increasing its influence. Britain and west doesn't like that India is getting strong beyond the limit ( decided by them).

remember we have bought British companies. for example TATA bought a British steel company and bought land rover and jaguar. Brits dont say anything openly but they hate that their slave is turning into master.

thus best way to delay rise of India is to pressurize India on issues like Kashmir so India has to spend its power on such issues.

they dont care for kashmiris what they care is they themselves and their superiority complex.

west did this to china and they failed. they will fail again.

.
A good job done.

The British will now realise that what a great job they did in drawing boundaries as if it was a child drawing a crow!

But they left everything woolly so that there will be trouble and so they will still be there calling the shots!

Clever little ticks, these sahib goralogs!

.
Good news. I hope they will further highlight this issue at International forums as well. The whole world needs to know of the atrocities being committed by the Indian army against the innocent Kashmiri civilians.

deafening silence of the world about the kashmir's atrocities is disgusting... Hopefully some country will grow some balls and show some guts

seriously man!!how old are you ??

these stupid inferences you derived make all the Indians look stupid in front of other nationalities ....:coffee:

may be i am wrong.

but you must agree with this sentence

they dont care for kashmiris what they care is they themselves

let me make clear. experts say " 21st century belongs to Asia." west cant afford it

why do you think american military experts have suddenly started dreaming of INDIAN SUPERPOWER.?

west wants to contain rise of china by using India. just like they used china to contain USSR.

Britain is just one player in this big game.

my point is west is trying to stop rise of India from decades. now they have realized that they cant do so.

hence they are trying to delay our rise instead of stopping it.

they can not tolerate that India is prospering and building strong arsenal.

majority of them still views India as 4th world nation and Indians easily conquerable.

forgive me if my earlier post had some stupid remarks

correct. that what i said.

ironically they are accusing Indians for crimes they also have committed.

In 1997, UK's foreign Secretary (Robin Cook) uttered the K word and the UK got called "a third-rate power nursing the illusions of grandeur of its colonial past".

That was considered the worst moment of the Labour Party in that decade.

in 2009, David Miliband did something similar, and had to face the ire of not only Indians, but also of UK's own press and people.

I wonder what they have now up their sleeve to embarrass themselves further...

Strange, incorrigible people, these MPs are.

yes its Pakistan's foreign diplomacy that is failing time and again, however on student level in UK, USA, and other developed countries, the awareness is reasonable about the crimes of Indian brutality.

Pakistan do not have competent diplomats... In international diplomacy pakistan is a cake walk for Indian (most of the time)
