Former chief of naval staff admiral Muhammad Sharif passed away on Tuesday and was laid to rest with full military honours in Islamabad. Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi including other retired and incumbent military officials attended the funeral prayer. According to a Pakistan Navy spokesperson, Sharif has the honor of being the first four-star admiral of the Pakistan Navy and he had also served as the chairman joint chiefs of staff committee, the post in theory is the highest military position since the CJCSC is technically head of the three armed forces.

Inna-Lillah-i-wa-inna-alaihi-rajeoon.
If I am not wrong he was the brother-in-law of Maj. Aziz Bhatti (Shaheed) Nishan-e-Haider.

Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi rajioon. May Allah swt give him Jannat ul firdous.

I am seeing ma sha Allah 6 ft apart in this namaz e janazah. Great to see armed forces leading by example.

Yes he was. Also, he was inducted as a Sailor and rose to the rank of a Naval Chief and later was also the JCSC. One of the best CNS Pakistan Navy ever had and a strict disciplinarian and commander. He had a remarkable memory and wit. He was from Gujrat, Punjab. He was to celebrate his 100 this July. May his kind soul Rest in Peace
