'Ex-Gujarat Minister spoke of Narendra Modi complicity in riots'

In fresh problems for Narendra Modi, a member of people's tribunal that visited Gujarat after 2002 riots said former Home Minister Haren Pandya had told them that the Chief Minister allegedly directed the police to give Hindus a free hand to vent their anger during the riots.

Justice H Suresh, a retired Bombay High Court judge, also alleged today that the Supreme Court-appointed Special Investigation Team (SIT) appears to have ignored the statements recorded by it of him and another Tribunal member Justice PB Sawant, a former Supreme Court judge.

Both the judges were members of the fact-finding team headed by veteran jurist and former Supreme Court judge Justice V R Krishna Iyer, which had gone to Gujarat in March-April 2002 after the post-Godhra riots.

Suresh said the evidence of the tribunal given to SIT on alleged instructions given to police by Modi to teach Muslims a lesson hours after the Godhra train attack was based on what was told to them by Pandya on May 13, 2002. Pandya was murdered on March 26, 2003.

Suresh said the Tribunal had an audio recording of Pandya's statement to it in which he said Modi had called a meeting on the night of February 27 hours after the Godhra train attack where he allegedly told the police to look the other way during the riots.

"In that (the recording) he (Pandya) has stated that there was a meeting at chief Minister's place, where he directed the police what to do and what not to do. He told the police actually that they should give free hand to the Hindus, who would act in their own way," Justice Suresh told NDTV.

He said Pandya's statement was relevant and "cannot be ignored" in a court of law.

"I was there, Justice Sawant was there and he(Pandya) said this in our presence," the former judge said, adding "the SIT recorded out statements".

He also said that the tribunal had given the SIT the audio recording of Pandya.

The SIT last week submitted its final report to a local court on its probe into allegations of Modi's involvement in the riots here and it is believed to have given a clean chit to the Chief Minister.

The thing is, the SIT, which was constituted by the Supreme Court and hence, was free of any influence from Modi, has practically given Modi a clean chit.

This means the Supreme court WILL essentially have to give him a clean chit.

Which means nothing has been proven against Modi in a court of law. Modi will eventually, in effect, walk out clean.

In fact, it's quite interesting that Pakistanis, who shout, "not proven guilty in a court of law", when it comes to MS. Hafiz Saeed & Co., at the drop of a hat, whine about how Modi was supposedly involved in the 2002 riots when so many investigations including those conducted by independent agencies have stated that he wasn't.

You don't have to canvas anybody to become the PM. MMS himself was a last choice.

Do you even know what happened in Gujarat other than what the sellout media told you? If Modi was so much complicit then how did it all stop? What about the burnt people on the train by Muslim fanatics?

If this is called conspiracy to start the riot, then what's the guarantee that the media itself is not conspiring? Do you have answers for that? What is it that media's words are so true for you against this man when he actually was the first one to call in Army's flag march?

Was the Army called to crush the lunatics in J&K when pandits and my kind were being kicked out and butchered? Where was the effing "secularism" then?

What happened in Punjab?

What happened in CHT in 1971 after our war?

Why is it that secularists have no answers to these events?

Why is it that secularists always talk of one side but even refuse to acknowledge or even assume the other side of the story?

There are a lot of things our media doesn't show to let out the skeletons out of the ruling government's (Secularist) cupboard. If that all reaches the ears of innocent and unknowing fellow Indians like you, you will cause a civil war in the country.

Which is why I humbly suggest you to look beyond what traitors in guise (self-appointed media intellectual secularists aka anti-Hindu/Sikh/Buddhist forces) spread lies around.

I can highlight at least a dozen cases which you or no other Indian would have heard in rest of the country which has never even touched the mainstream media which would make your skin crawl which it hides.

The first loser who was running around Gujarat throwing nonsensical allegations against Modi:

- was found guilty of being complicit in one of the largest industrial scams involved last year.
- was warned by the Army after giving away positions to the enemy during Kargil conflict.
- was again warned for giving away positions of NSG commandos and Navy MARCOs during Mumbai terror attack.

The second one, who again was harping against Modi, was found to have snatched land from poor and innocent people in Gujarat and because she was caught red handed and thrown into legal trouble by the state government (before 2002), she took her personal vendetta against Modi.
