Sadly the large lines at PIA booths can be easily handled much different ways.

This "I AM IN BUSINESS" mentality is something you will almost ALWAYS see during international travel. At least i have on ALL MY TRIPS!!
Just to mention a small point, it is not always from some Pakistanis!
A universal phenomena i would say.

I agree with you on this. This business vs economy is a big thing. More so, because the airlines themselves make it look really huge, and hence the guys sense of entitlement wasn't too ill placed. For instance, in Qatar Airways they even come searching for you even if you are in economy class but hold their privilege card. They will treat you so special that it makes one feel almost embarrassed as the passengers to your left and right might not hold the same card

Secondly, the guy had been informed by staff from another counter to go and get preferentially treated as he obviously paid close to 100% more than the rest. So, I don't think it is anything about equality - it really was just Business !
