Even cycle-puncture menders were made to issue blue passports: DG

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Hight Court (IHC) Tuesday on completion of hearing reserved the judgment of passport lamination paper contract case, while DG passport, Zulfiqar Cheema also appeared before the court, Geo News reported.

During the hearing of the case here, DG Immigration and Passport Zulfiqar Cheema in his testimony said that former interior minister, Rahman Malik wanted to give the passport lamination contract to one company and the delay thereby caused provided opportunity to the mafia taking bribe as much as Rs25000 for issuance of a passport.

Zulfiqar Cheema also disclosed that even cycle-puncture menders were made to issue blue passport on the orders of interior ministry, however, he has now ordered to cancel all those blue passports earlier made to issue to non-entitled persons.
