Meanwhile, the Afghan government is also struggling with internal turmoil, and has failed to revive the economy or produce jobs for the young who leave the country in droves.

It would be challenging for Afghanistan to absorb 80,000 deportations. So far, in 2016, about 5,000 Afghans have returned voluntarily from Europe.

“This is putting unreasonable pressure on the Afghan government, which is not able to respond to such numbers,” said Timor Sharan, senior analyst for the International Crisis Group in Afghanistan.

All the EU can't keep 80,000 but Pakistan must keep 3 million, and yet abuses of Afghanistanis are for Pakistan.

What this tells us is that despite all the rhetoric of Afghans coming back home:

1. The NUG does not want them to come home
2. Even 80,000 are a sever burden

Maybe this is why Afghanistan is huffing and puffing at Pakistan?

Pakistan and only Pakistan is to be blamed for this. Our pathetic non existent policy is the reason for this. We let others take us for granted even when we hold all the cards. So we deserve every bit of abuse coming from Afghans.

That is very true ... Pakistanis should have known what Afghans think of Pakistanis long before it burst out into the open

EU is already getting screwed with the number of refuges coming in from Syria and other war torn areas of West Asia and North Africa. People in certain countries who aren't in the war zone are taking advantage to flee into Europe for better opportunities. No wonder, EU is reluctant to accept more Afghans.

EU should deport all Afghans as per their statements their country is very stable and there shouldn't be any need for refugee. Pakistan and EU should send back each and every single Afghan back to Afghanistan.

Pakistan should kick out all Afghans from its country. Let the US and India take them in. Both these countries pretend to be the saviors of Afghanistan. They should do more for Afghan refugees.

The deadline is soon approaching. No more extensions this time. Enough is enough.

They'll just end up in Pakistan ... but you can't blame the EU for wanting to deport Afghans

EU has got more than a million refugees in last 1 yr or so. Only Germany itself took 1 million of them.
Deserving people should get refugee status.

INSHALLAH in 2017 all Afghans will have to leave Pakistan or people of Pakistan will make sure this government goes home, enough of these plays.

Well it does seem the government is determined to do that. Let's see what happens. I remain skeptical that Pakistan can kick out 3 million Afghans easily.

Why would Afghanistan want them back?

If they are given refugee status in Europe, they can work, earn a living and send money to their families in Afghanistan. If these people are deported, Afghanistan will have to provide jobs for them. No one wants to lose revenue.

True -- sending them back will just cause these 80,000 more misery
