With a 1000HP engine I suspect they went overboard on weight reductions to keep a decent performance level (thrust to weight ratio) because the rival MBTs are all 1200+HP. I fear too much reliance on ERA and active protection.

"Europe's" lmao.
Moscow is Europe's biggest city. Ladoga is Europe's biggest lake. Russians are fair skinned, blue eyed, blond haired Nordics. You don't have to be an EU member state to be a European country. Switzerland for example is not.
Yeah okay.
Btw, read Russian history someday? Russian identity has been forged in *patricularly* non-European self-imagination. Russians don't see themselves as 'Europeans'
Its akin to saying "oh Pakistanis are Indians" in the year 2300. Umm yeah okay, best of luck with that lmao.
Russians do share some genetics and cultural roots with Europe, but they are not Europeans. They don't regard themselves as Europeans. Their history has mirrored this fact as well.
PS, Istanbul is Europe's largest city by far, and not Moscow....even if you take only 'European' side of Istanbul, its still much larger than Moscow.
Stop getting basic facts wrong
Istanbul isn't completely in Europe like Moscow is.
Brits and Russians don't see themselves as Europeans. So what? Doesn't make Brits and Russians not Europeans.
Brits have always seen themselves as Europeans. Stop typing while high on cocaine
Russians have always seen themselves as Europeans. Stop making stuff up.
So you have not taken a single class ever in Russian history? Makes sense.
Do you think Russia has a choice? Ukraine used to supply them engine for T-90. Now that option is stopped. They are under fund to further developed a domestic higher hp engine. They need to make use whatever they have now. With a 1000HP engine I suspect they went overboard on weight reductions to keep a decent performance level (thrust to weight ratio) because the rival MBTs are all 1200+HP. Actually engines for T-72 and T-90 were and are produced in Russia, in Chelyabinsk, as 1500 hp engines for new T-14 Armata. T-90M engine have 1130 hp and power ratio 25.11 hp/t - higher or about the same as its overweight western rivals.Do you think Russia has a choice? Ukraine used to supply them engine for T-90.
