Eurojet leaves TFX engine bid

The TF-X engine bidders:

1-TAEC (%51 Kale, %49 RR)
2-TEI

Not TEI + GE?

KFX appears to be dead in the water now with KAI experiencing serious financial problems and Indonesia not making their annual payments.

This can Turkey open an opportunity for a co-development with S.K or Indonesia.

General Electrics is part of TEI. Turkish Aerospace Industries Inc. (TAI), General Electric (GE), Turkish Armed Forces Foundation (TSKGV) and Turkish Aeronautical Association (THK). The source is the site of TEI. https://www.tei.com.tr/detay/genel-bilgiler

No one gives anyone engine tech. If someone believes so is a fool. Simple as that.

Hope all is well on your end :P Stay safe & happy.

That is the other way around, TEI is a part of GE.

Unfortunately, no. Turkey actually negotiated with S. Korea some years ago and tried to join the project as an equal partner but S. Koreans weren't willing to release/share the intellectual property rights and wanted to retain limitations as to what Turkey can change on the airplane later on, what countries Turkey can export to, etc. They basically just wanted other nations to share costs in exchange for products, not trade.

Indonesia just wanted them for their own air force's use and didn't mind the restrictions but clearly now they're having second thoughts hence why they're not making payments.
