Ethnic Tajik teens during the school snack break in Xinjiang

Behind all this progress is repression of freedom and slavery.

I have talked to many Chinese who mock and utter profanities against China and Xi Jinping. And they're not even Muslims.

You can cage an animal, feed it and be good to it but it will fly away or run the moment it gets a chance.

Animalsddon't like slavery and they're not even intelligent beings. Humans would like slavery?

I feel sorry for Chinese. They dare think free and some dictator stomps them.

Just think about this and how profound it is. Just one person whims and desires control the whole China. What a disgusting life. Some person will control what i am allowed to think and what i am allowed to do? He can shove that progress up his where sun doesn't shine

But IMO you are slave though you are not feeling it.

You feel sorry for us, we feel sorry for you. Fair enough.

Welcome back by the way! :-) A bit belated but i was banned right after you were unbanned.

You were unfairly banned. There's so many people here who should have gotten the banhammer long ago.

Not allowed in schools, all Chinese school students have to wear school uniform, that's China's student dress code. No heavy makeup, no smoking.
China understands secularism as well as the French. You are doing well by allowing the children to think independently. Otherwise, the parents would push their own primitive cultures on the kids.

I have known plenty of Uzbeks and Tajiks. They can be very progressive people, if given the chance.

Countries who have Uniforms, also respect peoples religion by allowing Muslims to wear hijab and Sikhs to wear hair coverings like south korea
In a lot of Muslim and sikh households, religious attire is expected from the children. They don't get a choice. How should a state deal with that?

.
And also, hijab was never part of Uighur culture and costumes, it's a new thing coming from the middle east in recent decades.

This photo was taken in a school in Xinjiang in1943, before PRC time, do you see any students wear hijabs?

Hijab, burkha and other similar clothes is imported culture from middle east in recent decades as export efforts of Wahabis preacher from Saudi Arabia along with oil booms, most of south east asian muslim females back then dont use hijab except when doing sholat

That's what school and childhood is like on the other side of the border, do those haters really care about the well being of these poor kids or they just want to use them for some political or religious purposes?

Those kids can be even counted lucky, many Afghan kids don't have the luxury to go to a school even like this one and have to work day and night to support their families.

Do haters really care of those poor Muslim kids lives? China cares of ours.

You are comparing a nation that went through 40 years of war, went through two super powers, to a nation that has barely fought any wars in the last 70 years?

Someone give this guy a prize.

How about other countries in central and south Asia?

This is a problem I notice with many of you... deflecting. You don't talk about the issues at hand, but deflect and talk of others to distract and divert.

But since you've diverted, I am going to address it; China is a big nation, with a big population. Naturally speaking, it is going to advance further than the others since it has more resources in its arsenal. The same is true with India, it too will advance in the near future. Central Asian countries not too long ago were under the Soviets, I am not too aware as to how much Russia invested into them while they were under Russia so I can't really say much, lets see if they will progress since their independence. However, my nation, Afghanistan was a progressive country. Here are some pictures that you probably are not aware of.

Now it is a "shit hole" because of 40 years of Chaos as any country will be. I'd like to see any nation go through 40 years of devastation and still progress...

I m fully aware that Iran and Afghanistan were progressive nations in the early 1970's, but you let radicals take over your nations later on.

If we don't check radical elements in Xinjiang, 30 years from now I will be showing you today's Xinjiang photos to tell you how progressive Xinjiang used to be. Telling you Xinjiang used to have the world best highways, bridges, bullet trains, train stations and airports, city subways...

It's not about that... When a nation goes through a crisis, it sets them back, and they must re-start from step one. That often means what their foundations as a nation is. From there onwards progress will be a natural process... even China went through this difficulty when Mao began his rule, what was China's GDP until the 90s? now you can brag about China being great and whatnot because you people had the time and resources to make that happen.

Every nation has 8 stages... stage 1: from bondage to spiritual growth, step 2: from spiritual growth to courage, step 3: from courage to liberty, step 4: from liberty to abundance, step 5: from abundance to complacency, step 6: from complacency to apathy, step 7: from apathy to dependence, step 8: from dependance back to bondage.

Afghanistan is in step 1, China I would say is in step 4, while America is in step 5 entering 6. Afghanistan can progress even under the Taliban, provided that it is left alone and no one invades us.
