URUMQI, Oct. 15 (Xinhua) -- Chinese authorities have approved the project of building the first plateau airport in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

Located in Tajik Autonomous County of Taxkorgan, the new airport is designed to handle 160,000 passengers and 400 tonnes of cargo and mail a year, according to the Xinjiang Regional Administration of the Civil Aviation Administration of China.

With an investment of around 1.63 billion yuan (230 million U.S. dollars), the new airport will include a runway, 3,800 meters long and 45 meters wide, a terminal building, a control tower and other auxiliary facilities involving fuel feeding, power supply and fire rescue.

The project was recently approved by the National Development and Reform Commission, the administration said.

It is expected to make travel easier for local residents, improve capabilities of emergency rescue and promote regional economic and social development.

Situated in the east of the Pamir Plateau, Tajik has an average altitude of over 4,000 meters.

They live within a stone throw from Afghanistan, I doubt kids from the other side of the border can have a happy, fun, carefree childhood like them.
China...along with Pak...should just install a puppet government in Afghanistan. This government would bow to China/Pak...and therefore it would secure Pak's western border keeping it from India's meddling. Secondly China can start mining and utilizing the raw materials from Afghanistan for production...and even use the cheap labor from there. Get the development going...connect the middle East with central asian republics by land...by building rail and road networks...
...ppl's lives would improve and peace and prosperity would be good for the country.

OK, different countries follow different laws, we don't impose you to do the same in your country.

Most East Asian countries and regions follow the similar school dress code, in Japan, North and South Korea, Taiwan they also wear school uniforms, no so much in western countries like US and Europe.

You can say East Asian countries are a shame in doing so, but that's our thing, maybe some part of your codes are not agreeable in other peoples eyes, but we don't call it a shame.
Countries who have Uniforms, also respect peoples religion by allowing Muslims to wear hijab and Sikhs to wear hair coverings like south korea

So its Chinese law to eradicate religion? And you just proved that it targets Islam.

Much more students from Muslim countries study in China than in Korea, they have no problem wearing anything either.

Im not Talking about Universities which have no uniforms, im talking about public primary schools and public high schools

It depends on what is your definition of eradication of religions, cause I don't think religions are all about dressing, besides, check the previous page, hijabs are not part of Uighurs' traditional dressings anyway.

Do you see any Uighur kids wear hijabs before PRC in this photo? Hijab was never part of Uighur culture and costumes, it's a new thing coming from the middle east in recent decades.

This photo was taken in a school in Xinjiang in 1943.

You first said all of Asia enforces the uniform with no hijab, i proved you wrong and now you changed topic

Who are you to chose what religion is about, if you knew anything about Islam, it is a "way of life" which includes dressing.

hijabs are not part of Uighurs' traditional dressings anyway.
Hijab is a traditional part of Islam and if Uyghurs cho0se to follow Islam then they have a right to wear hijab if they want to. Who are you to stop them from wearing what they believe in.

How does posting a few old photo's prove anything. And are people not allowed to change if they want to, who are you to decide what a person should wear or what they should believe in?

Again, I have no problem with China fighting extremism, but here you are not fighting extremism. You are fighting Islam inside China. Hijab is not Extremism and Hijab doesnt bring terrorism.

I didn't say it, I said many east Asian schools have similar dress code, regardless of one's ethnic background, Han Chinese also have to follow the code.

As I mentioned, hijabs were not part of Uighur cultures, it's a foreign thing to them too. As for school uniforms, they are for all students regardless of their ethnic background, China has 56 ethnic groups and every group has their own traditional clothing and headwears.

If you are not happy about it, sorry, our country, our rule. As for what you can wear in your country, we can't care less.

Chinese minority groups and their clothing.

Some Muslims insist other Muslims should follow their step obey their order, they call this freedom of religions.
