You can’t compare Iran and Russia with gcc arab states
Maybe the infrastructure in Russia is outdated(roads bridges etc) compared to shiny good looking buildings in abu dhabi/dubai but all of that is fake and one houthi missile can end it very quickly
The majority of the labour force are foreigners such states can “exist” for a certain period(several decades from 1970s-2020s) however this cannot continue forever
the fact that oil(&gas) are lifeline for arab states(their exports are literally 90% natural resources) tells the ugly truth about this fragile states
More or less same could be said about Iran vs arab states
Nigeria is federal state with too many ethnicities(plus boko haram issue) which makes them impossible to succeed I guess you will agree with me that states who aren’t centralized cannot be successful(Switzerland is exception but they are special case)
Venezuela is a failed state because they haven’t succeeded in developing economy probably the major reason is the location near US and being cut off from the rest of the world
These two states(Nigeria and Venezula) are two examples comparable with gcc (arab) states when it comes to failing to decouple economy from oil but there are stark differences between them one word:”US ally”
In the end the comparison should be between Russia/Iran vs gcc states as they are the big players in the world(not poor Venezuela/divided Nigeria) I was really surprised when you mentioned them
