Erdogan 'wins Turkey's presidential election'

Not if he can change it.
No,his people own the army(infiltrated some 25 years ago),they have generals in key positions.
Erdogan is going in the wrong direction, there is nothing democratìc about him.
We are turning into a Islamic state.
Dont laugh, dont protest,no alcohol sale here and there, touristic places in the south-west under control of religious ministry, state TV channel not allowed to air negative news about Erdogan(most private channels to)?
People intimidated,fired(journalists).
Where do you see democracy?

He is yet to do what u r accusing him off.Islamic state? How is he making turkey an islamic state? Or him being religious and respecting the aspirations of muslim turks is equated to being making turkey islamic? On a serious note I support an islamization of society. Alcohol destroys society anyway but erdogan is yet to do all the things his critics accuse him off. He has strengthened democracy in turkey. A country where generals used to hang elected PM is finally turning the table on the generals. Didn't he say that he would be president of all turks after the election? He has took turkey to new heights in his 10+ year rein so far. Give him the credit that is due IMO.

Islam is an integral party of politics in muslim states and it will pay decisive roles in all muslim countries and turkey is no exception to that. Islam is a complete way of life that covers politics and state affairs as well. Seculars should accept that and try to play a constructive role in nation building.

When you are happy with the Islam factor in government, then good for you.
In my country things are different ,we have the freedom to do things(alcohol, nightlife, protest, laugh etc),its about the choice not of actually doing it.
He is not the president of all Turks,he has this mentality of ''we'' against ''them'',what kind of a leader does that?
Im not gonna explain it all over again,we are Turks,we see things the way we see it,up to you to accept it or not.

Well all turks may not be like u. Many turks may primarily identify themselves as muslims as every muslim should and erdogan may draw significant portion of his support from that quarter of population. And in a democracy u should also respect the views of those who don't like to see their society get degraded by alcohol , nightlife etc. Just my two cents.

Now, it's rumoured that Ahmet Davutoğlu will be the new Prime Minister of Turkey.
