The gas discovery is pretty much confirmed now (20 years of supply!). We are just waiting for the details from Erdogan.

Congrats to Turkey. I hope in sha Allah, we can fast track TAP pipeline (and economic corridor) to tap those resources through overland route from Turkey, Azerbaijan to Turkmenistan.

Energy Minister:
"Norway found the first gas on the 30th attempt. Britain found gas in the 150th trial. Our goal was to find gas in the first 10 deep sea drilling. We made the first discovery in the 9th deep sea drilling. Seismic data show that there are 2 more layers. We think that we will multiple the economic reserve in the region in a short time. Test results show that we obtain very high quality gas. Work will continue at full speed in areas with very high potential. We prioritize gas and oil drilling activities in the new period."

Turkiye paid $230 for buying per 1.000 cubic meters of gas from Russia in 2019
and in 2020 Turkiye pays $183 to buy per 1.000 cubic meters of natural gas from Russia

so 320 billion cubic meters of natural gas was discovered in the Black Sea = $58,5 - 73,6 billion ..... not bad


and the newly discovered reserves are only a piece of a larger resource. Turkiye will continue to discover more in the Black Sea’s Tuna-1 zone

also there are huge gas reserves for Turkiye in the Eastern Mediterranean
