No, that is incorrect. The IMEC route has a substantial rail component and trains will travel at a speed significantly faster than 14 knots.
Also, why would you assume a higher ship speed for the Suez route but not for IMEC ?
The reason why the 10 knots ship speed was chosen for the source was to try to mitigate the time cost for the transshipment required for the IMEC route.


Anything faster than 10 knots will have a higher percent of the total journey being taken up by transhipment time.

The Transshipment has a relatively fixed time cost, and having the container ship going faster is going to improve the speed of the fully sea-based route far more than the IMEC route, as the fully sea based route obviously has a longer distance traveled by sea.

The odd moves by the Biden Administration in relation to trade routes lately seems to be Biden's way to bamboozle the U.S. crazies into cooperating with China's BRI.

You had claimed that if ships traveled at 14 knots, both routes would take the same time. Do you still maintain that or have you realized you were wrong?

This corridor simply is NOT going to work.
Shipping to Saudi Arabia, then loading cargo on trains, then off-loading in Israel, then loading it on ships again. Come on! Why not load it on ships once and take it through the Suez Canal? Lot easier and cheaper!!!!

INdia proposed it , Europe Indian corridor is a gimmick. Economically and physically this corridor is not viable.
Add to this the switchiness of Saudi Arabia. They take direct orders from USA.

This way USA can have a leverage on both both India and Europe if this thing works at all.

What speed? Ships usually get stuck at Suez canal for 5-7 days on average to just cross....go to any ship tracking website and see for yourself on how fast ships go usually. Most would be about 10 knots as Its economical when it comes to fuel consumption.

In reality, it takes 1-3 days to unload a container ship.


This means 2-6 days will be taken simply from the 2 extra transshipment instances counting only the ship side.


Add to that the time taken to do drayage from ship to rail and rail to ship.


Add to that the travel time.


The source claims ~17.2 days from Mumbai to Piraeus by sea at 10 knots.


If we do 14 knots, it would go to ~12.29 days.


The source claims 10 days from Mumbai to Piraeus by IMEC.


~5.6 days from Mumbai to UAE, ~3.4 days from Haifa to Piraeus.


If we do 14 knots, it would go from 9 days for the sea portion to ~6.43 days for the sea portion.


Their wildly unrealistic figure of 24 hours for unloading from ship to rail, transit time, and loading from rail to ship is truly laughable.


I'd say at 14 knots it should be about equal, and at 16 knots it will be decidedly faster by sea.
