Turkey's Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan inspects an honour guard during an official welcoming ceremony in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing April 9, 2012. Erdogan is in China on a 4-day official visit.

Premier Wen Jiabao held talks on Monday with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.

"It's our common wish to continuously cement friendship and enhance cooperation between China and Turkey," Wen said during his talks with Erdogan, who is on the first official trip to China by a Turkish prime minister in 27 years.

The Turkish prime minister started his four-day visit to China on Sunday. Before arriving in Beijing Monday afternoon, Erdogan visited Urumqi, capital city of northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, which made him the first Turkish prime minister to visit the region.

President Hu Jintao, top legislator Wu Bangguo and Vice President Xi Jinping are also scheduled to meet with Erdogan during his stay in Beijing.

Wen said he believed that Erdogan's China visit will further enhance mutual understanding and trust between the two nations and inject new momentum into the bilateral ties.

After his Beijing tour, Erdogan is scheduled to fly to China's financial hub Shanghai and deliver a speech at Shanghai International Studies University.

I read that this was about second nuclear santral. Erdogan and Ciabao signed some deals and Turkish Energy Ministry and Chinese National Energy Agents (don't know the exact translation but in Turkish this is how they wrote ) singed a nuclear cooperation lletter.

Turkey and China now discussing the nuclear santral deal. The decision about this will be decided in this visit and the final decision between Chna, Russia, Korea and Japan will be decided in two months.

They also talked about Syrian issue too. There is an article about this in todayszaman. Here is some of the important things from it if you don't want to read the whole article

Erdoğan's visit is the first to China in 27 years by a Turkish premier and follows a February trip by Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping to Ankara and Istanbul, where the countries signed trade deals worth billions of dollars.

Erdoğan is leading a delegation of 300 businessmen in hopes of garnering more Chinese investment in Turkey and a boost in Turkish exports to China's booming economy. Areas for hoped-for cooperation include energy, construction, autos, banking and telecommunications.

"Although we don't share complete agreement, we agree that we should play a constructive role," Liu told reporters at a regularly scheduled briefing.

Liu said China wants an immediate end to violence and hopes the international community will give Annan more time to see the cease-fire agreement to fruition.

"We think the final resolution needs all sides to sit down and talk," he said.

Erdoğan first stopped on Sunday in Urumqi, capital of China's far west Xinjiang region, whose native Muslim Uighur ethnic group share linguistic and cultural links with Turks and where Turkey plans to set up an industrial zone.

Syria highlighted on Turkish PM's China visit

Has he taken another "letter" from Obama to China, just like the recent one he delivered to Iran from Obama?

He went to China to deliver his Zionist masters letter... Don't be a troll...

Its very good to hear Turkey coming close to China ... as a common friend Pakistan should also work to bring China and Turkey closer. Three countries in the world r very vital to Pakistan's foreign policy ...Saudi Arab, China and Turkey. I wish Iran could join this list ...

If you can't post anything constructive you better keep quiet. Why waste our time with trolling ?

That is not fair yaar. He is one of the most logical and rational posters her.

Can I ask you something??

1. America because of it size dominates and has most influence on NATO-Yes

2. AIPAC dictates American foreign policy-Yes

3. Tel Aviv-dictates to AIPAC -Yes

4. Turkey values its position in NATO over and above all considerations-Yes

It follows that Turkey is used as a post man from time to time. Yes Sir

This does not change the fact that we Pakistanis are brought up to love our Turkish Muslim brothers but these are facts.

Bro,if you are planning to be a political analyst or sth in Pakistan, for the sake of our Pakistani brothers, just cancel it.

According to your "Press TV" logic,Israel is controlling NATO.

Well,by miracle its Turkey that is being obstacle for the cooperation between NATO and Israel and thats why Turkey gets a lot of criticisms.:)

And its the zionists who are crying for Turkey to leave NATO.

The world is not black and white as some small brains would think.:)

POLITICS - Turkey PM meets China's Wen after Xinjiang trip

Basically Wen's telling Turkey if they go to war against Syria don't come crying to us when Russia strikes back.

I dont think Turkey wants to engage a war with Syria because its against Turkis interest. But even if Turkey decides to go to war against Syria,i dont think she would give a damn about China. And even if Russia decides to attack Turkey, which is unlikely,i dont think Russia would give a damn about China as well. So,dont bother.:)

. .
Improving relationship between China and Turkey should be encouraged. However, it must be realized that this meeting centred around Syria issue.

Most probably Erdogan begged Wen to convince Russia to not retaliate if it invades Syria.

Please tell me which of my four statements you believe to be inaccurate. If not draw the obvious conclusion
