Engineering through Long Course(?).

Alright, so I have a friend who says, quite adamantly, that his friend joing the Corps of Engineers (Sappers) through Long Course "Yaara Long course thaa, 2 years ka thaa"
Is that possible? I thought one only gets into Armoured (InshaAllah me through 143 L/C), Artillery, and Infantry.
If not, so can someone clarify to me as to the question of it being possible to join Corps of Engineers through Long Course (2 years).

There was a time cadets were inducted in PMA in LC and got commission as 2nd Lt, then joined Technical/Engineering Corps. At rank of Captain they would do B.E in respective field.
Its better to do B.E. as GC before getting commission coz its straight after Fsc, instead of 6-7 years after becoming captain.

When I did B.E, we had both GC's and Captains in class for same course. Your choice.
